This is why I've become such a fan of AEW in a short time - they're not afraid to have BIG moments on their weekly shows. And lots of them.
Match is great so far and appreciate going past 10 to make end more suspensful.... but the cuts to mjf are getting a bit much
Great match. Would have preferred to see Danielson get a title reign, but MJF winning the title from Mox makes the most storyline sense.
Belt is going on mjf soon, probably thought a quick title reign wasn't best for Danielson first reign
Not sure on Paige but Danielson wrestled in WWE again before his contract expired and he signed with AEW (I think)
Danielson was cleared in WWE. He wrestled for a couple years and then his contract expired. No idea about Paige, but she had some bad neck issues, crumpled at a basic back kick at a live event, etc.
Not a Paige fan but it’s like them bringing punk in for me (not a punk fan either) big get brings more viewers so it’s good for the company.
I was a huge Paige fan in NXT but her main roster run was meh. She also seems to have had a ton of work done and it kind of works against her persona she had in NXT. Hasn't wrestled in a long time either. AEW women's division is bad so I think she is worth a shot to see what she can do, but my hopes aren't super high
Never been a big Paige fan but that was cool to see. If she can get back in the ring, that’s awesome. She sleeps and breathes wrestling.
heels at the top of their game get booed out of the building, not the biggest cheers of the show. and i like the guy, they just need to go with it
I wish Bryan had won but I get it. His time will come, probably sooner than later. In the meantime Mox has cemented himself as the company's MVP, the Ace, and the number 1 guy they go to to steady the ship in a storm. In that case the finish was almost a foregone conclusion. Overall great show. Hot hot crowd and there's no better looking venue on TV for a wrestling show than Arthur Ashe.
Just finished up. This Mox Mark is very happy. Knew as the match went on that whoever won would do it via KO. Fun show. Definitely interested to hear what the status of Saraya's neck is, good surprise. And EVERYONE LOVES THE ACCLAIMED
They need to keep the video screen behind the entrance tunnels and the digital ramp as a weekly staple. The look of the show needs a slight refresh anyway and that'd be perfect, imo
this is so odd, they sold less tickets. Only topped 1m because he raised the prices on the tickets from the last show.
Good show, really don’t want to see Paige in the ring again. Taking a simple bump and losing control of her limbs once was enough for me to see. I would be really cool with her being a GM. Not sure on Jericho and Mox booking but let’s see how it plays out. I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt.
I don’t think that’s his fault. And I don’t think HE wants to go with it. But when you don’t have a strong baby face against him what else do you expect.
Paige in ring is scary, but hopefully the doctors know what they're doing. I've been over Jericho forever so I'll refrain commenting on him, but I think as a transitional champ to lose to MJF, mox is the right guy. Danielson title reign should be a real reign and it should be built up to.
I find Jericho very entertaining even though he’s lost several steps in the ring. He’s still an enormous character and I don’t see how that fits the brand ROH. I guess let’s see. I think you can make Bryan’s run real even if you miss the long storyline build for it. He’s not new to the company or the business. I feel Mox is stale and now a three time champion? And to just be a transitional champion twice?
he'll be the opposite of what ROH stands for with the code of honor, retain the belt some shitty underhanded ways and some babyface will take the belt off him and get a mega push, probably Garcia IMO
He probably likes working with Yuta for the same reason women like going to the club with their fat friends
I didn't realize until last night that it had been 5 years since she last wrestled (really more like 6, she's only had 7 matches since July 2016) and she's still only 30. She started wrestling when she was 14
I'm still lightly annoyed that AEW still has the entrance music volume so low in broadcast. But that Paige entrance was really well done. Camera cuts to Britt were perfect. I always love the new music/mystery person moments. However- I cannot be the only one that between the music hitting and the reveal thought it was some crazy Sasha Banks moment. That was my first guess just as it happened.
was so jarring seeing the two extremes when it comes to charisma and speaking ability face to face, hopefully mjf can bring something out of the kid
If a star is going to come out of those smaller mid card guys (yuta, Darby, jungle boy, Daniel Garcia, etc) it’s going to be Daniel Garcia. Really feel like Garcia vs Jericho is what could vault him into that next tier. I think letting Garcia go up against some bigger guys and win (archer, Hobbs, wardlow) would really cement his status
Garcia is only 24. Bryan Danielson wasn't exactly anything noteworthy in the charisma department when he was that age. Not saying he'll be Danielson by any means, just that there is still a low of room to grow. Most people that make it to a big promotion don't make it out of the indies/developmental until their late 20s or early 30s.
Oh shit! Surprise appearance on Rampage Spoiler Just so happens to be my favorite wrestler of all time
