Spoiler disney delayed bc of the dont say gay stuff, and honestly I dont think they'll ever go through with it now
Sounds like you're near my old stomping grounds. Childhood home was on 15 and graduated from St Cloud HS. How long have you lived out there? Like it?
I know you aren’t supposed to focus on the line, but man we are getting really close to it being south of the mouth of Tampa bay and avoiding storm surge. A few miles could make the difference between catastrophic flooding and none.
Over my parent's house as a cat 2. Hope it's all good when they get back so they can finally sell it.
I honestly enjoy it. Bought down here just to get more house for the money and not be in Orlando-proper. Just a few mins from lake Nona but the school traffic and just overall congestion is making it unbearable. Working from home isn’t for me so I like going into the office but it’s starting to drag. as much as St. Cloud thinks they’re a small town, they aren’t anymore. One of the fastest growing cities in FL and the roads can’t handle it.
Glad to hear you're enjoying it. It's cliche but it's really incredible how much that area has changed in the last decade. Used to play Eagle Creek frequently and it was the only show in town. Housing is definitely outstripping infrastructure down that way. 15 used to be a nice, relaxing drive, I would almost always use cruise control.
That thin line couldn’t be any more problematic for me if it tried. I mean, basically through my house. My only solitude is knowing that 2 days out means it will probably shift. Charlotte County get ready.
I’m out in Colorado, my Dad works for the county and is working at the emergency center from tomorrow till Thursday at least. He’s in Sarasota, my brother is east of the interstate, my sister in Parrish. This is the first time I haven’t been home for an actual storm and I’m stressing. It looks like it will hit north of there right?
My mom just sold her condo in Tarpon last week and moved up here. Said she will miss Florida but glad she doesn’t have to worry about this any more. I’m like you’ve seen the movie twister right?
Also know I’m going to be stuck in an airport Friday, don’t think they’ll let us land in Orlando Friday night
That was me a few years back when a storm hit Naples. All I can say is try to stay positive and not get caught up in the sensationalism you see on tv and social media.
Weirdly I wish I was with my sister and her family. My nephew is on the spectrum and is obsessed with wind, wish I was there to spend that time with him. Typing this makes me realize I need to visit, fuck, sorry brehs. I hope everyone stays safe.
We love 4:59AM emergency alerts on our phones for a storm 24 hours out don't we folks? Holy adrenaline... guess I'm up. Suppose I'll go to Walmart at 6 to beat any crowds for last minute supplies
Hurricane bros: I’ve got a friend who lives on the water in punta gorda. He says he’s staying as of now (with a toddler). Is he stupid? Can I call him stupid?
My parents live in Seminole and that thin line looks to go directly over their house. They’re not in a mandatory evacuation zone so their going to ride it out.
Brought the patio furniture inside which has lead to my wife vacuuming it because it's "to buggy" (it's not) at 630 in the morning.
One hurricane my Mom had to assist at a shelter. When she came home my Dad’s harley was parked in the living room. Forget which hurricane this was but they barely got hit.
My cousin lives on the water in Bradenton my sister is in a mandatory Evacuation szone in tampa (upper level apt). Neither are leaving
