For those wondering, ongoing chess cheating drama with a viral unfounded theory that the alleged cheater used vibrating anal beads. Fun times.
Put one of those suckers in and do anything... you'll have an edge you wouldn't believe. Ohio state's been doing it for years. Clemson got caught trying to pull one out in a playoff game.
some people say heavy breathing, “oh fuck oh fucks” and moaning during your opponent’s turn can be distracting. it’s never bothered me tbh but maybe i’m built different
Lol not the most accurate and outdated now but sure. Hans has been around and active professionally since he was like 10. No one gets to 2600ELO overnight. Hans and Magnus played a full match in the Sinquefield Cup where, according to a recent statement from Magnus, Hans seemed to not be paying “enough” attention during critical junctures. Hans was also playing with black pieces, usually a disadvantage that has GM/Super GM players angling for a draw rather than a win. There were some unorthodox moves, Magnus gets flustered, loses and then withdraws the next day from the remainder of the tournament. Hans’ post match interview is a bit fuzzy on why he’s making moves, adding to the suspicions. The next time they meet in an online tournament on Sep 19th, Magnus played one move and then resigned. He doesn’t want to play against Hans, or in a tournament that Hans is even playing in. Magnus has been unable to provide any evidence of cheating but his influence on the chess world is such that any tournament organizer is going to have to choose between the best in the world vs an up and coming 19 year old with confessed cheating in two online matches when he was 12 and 16. If you ask me, Hans is not to be trusted because of that history but I don’t think he did anything more than psychologically rattle Magnus, who is now being a baby.
come on, this is a little biased. first off, you describe Hans as just some innocent little 12 or 16 year old. but in chess, plenty of 12-16 year olds play at the highest levels of chess; this is not like a little kid hiding scrabble tiles. plus, Hans at 19 years old now is still young so framing him cheating at 16 years old being way in the past is bizarre. second, hans indeed confessed to cheating twice but chess.com have indicated that he's cheated far more commonly than that and numerous other GMs/experts have given testimony via twitch/youtube to their belief that Hans was cheating in online games. this was somewhat of an open secret amongst GMs, it seems. Hans' (former?) coach/mentor was also revealed over the last month to be Maxim Dlugy, a former US Chess Federation president who was caught cheating a few years ago. and in the statement Magnus released, he says he can't say more about Hans without explicit permission from him (which to me means for legal reasons, as Hikari hinted at similar legal complaints related to Hans). while plenty of smoke, there's obviously no firm evidence yet that Hans cheated OTB/in St Louis. but i think it's still too early to say that magnus is canceling hans or whatever as neither he nor chess.com have yet concluded providing evidence. if nothing more is presented in the coming months, i will agree with you that the game's greatest ever player is leveraging his position to remove someone who is suspicious but not proven to be guilty.
Butt plug Morse code carries a pretty high threshold of reasonable doubt. Do you think that this approaches that?
Little disappointing that they didn't draw an even smaller more recursive cover image on the book inside the book
