catching Turnpike and Shane Smith tonight out in Pendleton OR. just walked by Kyle Nix hanging out in GA listening to Jesse Daniel
If anyone is interested in singles, I just got two singles for the Saturday Ryman Turnpike show for $55 each.
Under the Big Sky update Was 5 minutes late for my flight this morning. So I’m still in Tallahassee and hoping the storms clear out before my flight at 4:30 then I’m off to CLT, SLC and arrive in Missoula where Norm Peterson has to drive 1.5 hours to pick me up cause there’s no seats available to FCA. It'll be a miracle if I make to Montana today
Godspeed. I look forward to hearing about the festival and if they've made any improvements after last year (mainly the over sold issue)
My flight out of TLH was delayed an hour so missed my connection to SLC. Currently on my way to Dallas then SLC and fly to Missoula in the morning. I think they will. Cut tickets in half. Layout is a bit different. Black Pumas had to cancel so they filled Paul Cauthen in for it. Am excite to see 3 of his shows in a weekend
Saw Turnpike this past weekend at the Palomino Festival. They were pretty great. Charley Crocket who I really wasn’t familiar with was really good. Langhorne Slim was legit as well.
I like the idea of Charley Crockett. have listened to all his stuff and have seen him open for people a couple of times. Just cannot get into him.
UTSB most def didn’t cut tickets down. PC and TT were great. But had a fucking awful time. Not nearly enough event security staff. And everyone was just fucked up and out of control. Not a single decent person in the lot
Saturday and Sunday were much better. My ex worked the fest this year and they got fucked on people not tipping. last year they made 2k for the weekend and this year they didnt make 1k. I wont be going back for the fest but will be making an annual trip for hiking and relaxation
thx for the pics. Need to take my kids out there. Pissed it took me 43 years to experience Glacier NP.
Trigger says much improved over 2021 festival https://www.savingcountrymusic.com/...3YGcgZx7pohP_VtvlpM5E0y5fllsdYBusCE4VAzJqxXyU
Went to both nights of Turnpike at the Ryman. They killed it both nights, but Saturday’s show was the best I’ve seen at the Ryman. I’ve never heard a louder crowd. Setlist was virtually the same both nights, which was expected. Although I was expecting to hear Cat in the Rain. A long story, but we got an unexpected upgrade on our seats once we got in, so that was a pleasant surprise.
I can’t remember exactly, but i think I was section 7, row v and my wife was section 7, row s. A couple bought extra tickets and didn’t end up scanning them in or anything, so she told us we could sit there so we could sit together. I think it was section 7, row L. We still had aisle seats. It was the row between the first section on the floor and the second, beside the pole, so we also had extra leg room. Couldn’t have worked out better, especially since I paid face for the singles.
Yeah, L is where restricted view seats start. I love getting row L or M seat 1 or something. Your view may be barely restricted. Way better than the back of the alphabet like V.
May I make a confession? I'm so fucking burned out on Turnpike and I have been for the last 5 years that I haven't even been able to listen to them since they've come back.
Finally saw Turnpike last night, they absolutely killed it. Felker sounds so good. Felt surreal to see them live, I never thought it would happen. American Aquarium opened up for them and they also sounded great. Show was in Raleigh, so a bit of a homecoming for AA as well
Would have loved to have been there. AA killed it at the Ryman to kick off their new tour back in June.
I couldn’t listen to TT for like their entire 3 year hiatus. Just too depressing thinking they might never play again. So good to have them back.
Was also there. A gem of a show. Band sounded incredible, Evan seemed happy and comfortable up there. Interesting that he stepped off stage for the cover of “All Your Favorite Bands,” but makes sense I guess. Not sure any band has their live sound and show perfectly mixed like AA does. They’re a finely tuned machine. Had to be a cool moment for them.
Best I’ve ever heard Barham and I’ve seen them quite a few times at this point. That was a good venue, hadn’t been to a show there before. One bathroom line for the entire venue was a travesty though
I knew he’s the one that sings it, just didn’t remember Evan leaving the stage completely during it but it’s been so long may just be forgetting on my end.
So bad. I ventured over to the other side assuming there would be another one over there and was stunned to see there wasn’t. Only complaint though, really dig the venue. Cool spot.
I think that song is a scheduled break for Evan. I’ve seen RC sing it multiple times and Evan is never on stage.
I think it's a respect thing. The lead singer gets all the attention all show so he's excusing himself to let the guitarist have the spotlight.
If anyone wants 2 tix to Turnpike Troubadours in Tuscaloosa tomorrow, PM me. Free if you’ll use them.
Shane Smith & The Saints absolutely crushed it in Atlanta tonight. First time seeing them live and it did not disappoint
