here is the quote. Instead of going beating around the bush just in plain English tell what you meant. I take your post to mean that the democrats are no longer pro labor therefore they have lost the white working class voters. What else can I take from your post? Why are they only losing the WWC vote and not the WC vote in general? If they are only losing the WWC vote but keeping the rest (working class POC) why is it such a big deal to you (if it is)? Also if they are anti labor why are WWC voters different than POC WC voters? In other words why is only one group leaving? What issues are particular to them they are leaving but POC aren’t? Why shouldn’t I infer from your statement that WWC voters are the most important demographic of “labor” voters? Why aren’t you implying that democrats are anti WWC voters and just used “labor” as a proxy for them?
I'll cover this...most "white working class voters" are absolute shit bags. The worst of the worst humans.
And that’s fine if you believe that, just don’t lament their response. The bolded is where it begins and ends, friend. You can take it anyway you’d like - and in this instance you are wrong. The end. And I didn’t imply that Dems are anti WWC, I implied their actions would not help with this particular demographic as demonstrated with the accompanying tweet. The importance or worth of this demographic is immaterial to anything beyond what the tweet I responded with implied, Democrats/pundits/taking heads seem to write a lot of opinion pieces, center a lot of discussions on why Dems do poorly with WWC voters and the correlated rise in Trumpism/push to the right. Biden’s statement doesn’t seem to help. No one said you have to care.
this does bring up an interesting dynamic this cycle house vote share as it relates to house seats was biased towards dems, a huge reversal of the last decade
I have a “libertarian”, free speech, no taxes type friend. He is already bitching about the Democrats not investigating the Bankman-Freid dude and their lack of caring about the corruption and scamming in the Crypto space. Literally everyone told him that was the case with crypto but he continued to dump every ounce if savings into it. Dumbass. Luckily he doesn’t vote and thinks its not worth his time.
I kinda think it's cool that a bunch of people are arguing that the government should be more pro labor. Also gives a lot of cover for the President to move even more left. Maybe I'm just dumb though...
You can set your watch to Brad taking a little too much creatine and deciding he wants to come own the libs
Y'all Georgia mother fuckers better vote because I'm not listening to this dumb cunt ramble for 6 years.
I hate it when people use “could care less” when they mean “couldn’t care less”. Words matter, and I’m getting really mixed signals here.
i haven't read any of the tweets posted or anything about anything union workers want 7 days of sick leave vs 3 or something, and the powers at be don't want to give them an extra x amount of days of sick leave? is that the gist of this?
My buddy works for the rail. It really sucks. They are so short staffed that they basically never get off days. They get next to no time off.
Mentioned it before but my dad is retired railroad engineer and former elected union rep. You’re on call 24/7. The point system they use is bogus. He gave me an example how if you have a Dr’s appointment and schedule it for a day off it doesn’t matter if you get called the day before and have to go to work. The point still counts regardless even though you didn’t get to go. It’s why it’s impossible to schedule time off because you have schedule a few days in advance or you’re going to get called. He was “long haul” so if he got called he’d be gone 3-4 days. Not sure how it works for transit.
Cornyn is such an underrated piece of shit. Yesterday he wanted to own the libs by favoring sick leave, but now that Dems seem to be willing to include it in legislation, he's out
How is owning the libs? You agree with govt intervention in labor’s ability bargain and strike? Aren’t the libs owning themselves on this issue?
No. It reads pretty straight forward. The rail strike could deal a blow to the economy and The House blocked it from happening.
Maybe I’m just a simpleton but it’s amazing to me that Congress can do this. I’m guessing we have Reagan to thank
house voted for the sick day amendment but only 3 republicans voted for it going to be nowhere close to passing in the senate, since republicans only virtue signal to labor
The House passed two versions of the bill. One that was the agreement that was negotiated in September, and one with the sick leave the union wanted. Now it's up to the Senate to decide which gets to Biden.
That makes more sense. For some reason it reads as a continuous sentence meaning by blocking it Congress was gonna hurt the economy
The QTs on this are incredible. Laughing hard as shit around my fellow socially awkward nerds at this conference.
this is what funny when the incel republicans come itt and complain about biden what support would organized labor receive from a trump/desantis administration
Any parent that's OK with another adult putting hands on their kid is a piece of shit parent. Any adult that wants to physically discipline a child is a piece of shit human.
