I’m gonna take the opposite, I don’t think it’ll be much of a competition. (Assuming Purdy has no lingering injury issues) I didn’t see anything close to the spark Purdy had when Lance played. But if Lance pushes Purdy cool, it would be better for the team if we had two good young QBs.
Consider the investment in Lance though and that he's undoubtedly more athletic and has more upside. It's still fair to say he needs more time.
That is fair to say, he just hasn’t played enough ball in 3 years. There is upside to Brocks game too as a rookie going into his 2nd year. We shall see, not a bad problem to have.

I’ll roll with Brady for a year if Purdy is out for the year over Lance any day…..Lance is so beyond inaccurate passing that the team is done before it gets started as a serious contender if he’s ever the starter, plus he’s a ticking injury machine so he won’t make it thru a year regardless

Purdy needs Tommy John surgery. Looks like we are re-signing Jimmy G or exploring a trade for a certain vet QB that is dying to come to SF
That would be less than a month before camp starts. If they have to make a move for a vet (or re-sign Jimmy) it has to be done before that imo.
no chance Packers trade Rodgers to 49ers with your lack of high draft picks and being in the nfc. at most you will be used as leverage for Jets or others.
Tommy John is typically for UCLs that have had years of stretching and fraying on top of a tear and need a completely new one. Purdy’s UCL is probably in good shape outside of the tear.
He’ll be fine in 6 months. Even if he’s not just don’t trade Lance, get his trad value up, and then trade him
Really depends on what the 6 means. If that means fully back he is back for training camp. If it is 6 months then some rehab, no chance he is ready for week 1. They need to be scheming, and I just don’t see how you can re-sign Jimmy. Run it back with the same three QBs all coming off serious injuries? That would be a fireable offense. Like others I don’t fully believe Lance can be the guy in this offense. Just not sure he is quick enough with the ball or accurate enough to take advantage. If Kyle isn’t willing to give that a shot and it is instead more running, he needs to be trade bait. Then figure who you want to go after out of Brady or Rodgers.
Such a buzzkill to the year and now really no offseason for BCB as the guy when he’ll be rehabbing. I’m more frustrated today than I was after the Rams loss last year since it felt like playing with house money getting in during the last week. 12 straight wins this year and couldn’t give Philly our best shot after Brock got hurt.
Year end interviews today. Purdy’s seemed pretty weird. Indicated nothing was certain and going to take a little more time before making a decision. Also said the 6 month may be optimistic timeline wise. Trey said he will be 100% in 3 weeks and full go for OTAs.
I don’t know enough about the defensive coordinator market to know who else we could potentially get. Although, Fangio was the OG. I’m fine with it.
