I find it funny how much talk I’m seeing about the officiating today when anyone who pays attention knew it was going to be a disaster as soon as they announced the ref assignments. what did the NFL think was going to happen. and guess what, the Super Bowl is probably going to be poorly officiated as well.
Its literally in the rules that this isnt a hold. He's using a rip move so the OT can do this all day and its not a hold
His inside arm is pinned close to his chest being held. The arm that looks like a rip move is outside and away from the Brown. What the hell kind of rip move would that be?
Its a still shot, watch the whole play. Hendrickson uses a rip and never had him beat so he's not gonna get the call. Same with Hill. Mahomes scrambles towards Hendrickson and it probably would've turned into a hold. and honestly. Its not a hold to begin with on Hendrickson. Its great hand placement from Brown
Hendrickson is 2.5 yards from Mahomes at that point, and Mahomes hadn't started to roll. Brown is at best perpendicular at that point, but in reality slightly behind Hendrickson's shoulder. The only part of Brown still between Hendrickson and Mahomes is the arm that pins Hendrickson's left arm and crosses the front of his chest. All the while his other arm is around Hendrickson's back, completing the "hug." Again, Hendrickson is closer to Mahomes than Brown is at that point. That's getting beat, and that's a hold. They happen. They don't all get called. But that one was agregious and the defender has as much right to make a play at that point as the Statefarm spokesperson. FWIW, I agree with the roughing call. That play should have been replayed and who knows what would have happened then?
1. I'm starting to believe that Kayvon Thibodeaux's draft rating was dropped by everyone because he can't name anyone who has ever played football before. 2. Using screenshots to complain about holding or other penalties was stupid a decade ago, but Twitter was still kind of new so people gave it a try. It's 2023 now. Come on, people.
I don't think I could draw up a more obvious flag for intentional grounding than what Burrow did on that play but this thread had 5 pages of arguing over it behind the LOS, still in the pocket, CLEARLY throws ball at a downward angle towards his OL feet 3 yards behind LOS to avoid sack while the RB is 5 yards past the LOS downfield as cut and dry as it gets
I’m on record that my ideal outcome was both teams lose so Patrick and Joseph can go head to head in the skills expo, which would settle things once and for all.
So why exactly were you and Wendel so happy after the Chiefs won? You posted 10+ Tweets about Eli Apple.
because I dislike/envy both teams. pretty simple and it is easy to celebrate one team losing. glad I could educate your stupid ass this morning
