It's one of my favorite beaches I've been to so you guys will have a blast, I would contact the bnb prior to executing the reservation to see if there is a pretty dramatic amount of support they're going to facilitate or put you in touch with the people you need to get in touch with for activities Based on your apparent budget the Ritz and Grace Bay are always an easy route to just have everything handled for you
The Airbnb details and all the reviews seem to say the hosts will help out with anything we need. It seems to be walkable to restaurants and shops etc.
We had to do a transfer on the way to Interlaken but it wasn't at HB. They have an app and it'll give you step by step directions like Google maps. It'll tell you where to get off and what track to get the next train.
My company is having an offsite in Rome in August. I'll likely have the option to take an overnight somewhere once it's over but will probably only have 1 day/night. I've been to Florence before. What are my best options close by Rome?
Ha, my other job that pays my bills. the hostel will be open by then so have to figure out that side of it too

spagett what's the occasion? Work sending you all over the world or just taking a saunter around the globe?
My parents are planning a vacation for summer 2024 already. They want to rent out a place in Florence for like 2 weeks, and then their kids' and their families can use that spot as like a home base. H I've not been to Florence in quite a while, but know it's a board fav. How would you map out your schedule? I wouldn't mind staying in other cities over night, but would generally use whatever place they were renting out. My first instinct would be to head to Cinque Terre for a few nights since I've never been. Btw, check out the Florence VRBOs. My Dad was looking at them this weekend and the prices definitely looked too good to be true for some of these, but they're planning it.
We rented this place on Via dei Neri (just west of Via dei Benci), right next to Santa Croce and a short walk to the city center. Great place and more space than we needed, but a bit of traffic noise https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/8502201 We only spent two days and three nights in Florence and hit the high points, but if we'd had more time we would have done a day trip to Pisa and spent a night in Lucca I also wanted to go to the Rubicon, and cross it
You will have a couple of train changes to get from Florence to the Cinque Terre, but it’s not bad. Do not drive it. The Cinque Terre is incredibly inaccessible by road.
Had reservations on the railing and it was awesome. Uluwatu was also 15'+ and breaking all the way from the outside through the inside section and great to watch
Thinking of planning a trip to Hawaii in August for a week with the GF. Have been to the big island but I was 12 so I know nothing about the Islands. We are pretty laid back like to scuba/snorkel, fish eat some good food see some cool shit not really looking to mountain bike or anything but a good excursion is always appreciated. Was going to go back to Costa Rica (Osa Peninsula down south) but figured i'd check out something different although a shit load more money. I know this was vague if any one has any recs or a good resource would be appreciated.
Went to the big island last June and stayed in a house in Kona. Just rented a jeep and drove to various beaches to snorkel and looking back at it, ate a gross amount of poke I highly recommend the night manta swim. It was one of the best things I’ve ever done
Every island has a different vibe, variations on a theme. Maui has a little of everything and is pretty family-oriented, Oahu has a lot of people/traffic and Pearl Harbor, Kauai is more laid back and rustic. Never been to the Big Island. Our experience is that Maui is the most beach-friendly and Kauai has the most to do if you want to do land stuff. Maui has the Road to Hana and Haleakala as day trips, Kauai has Waimea Canyon. Maui has Lahaina and Maalaea as harbors for boat trips/tours. Both have good ziplines. We're headed to Napili on Maui in May to show the kids the snorkeling with turtles at Honokeana Bay that wife and I discovered last September
Nah that was from the place I was staying, but close to single fin Somehow it was like half the price of what you'd pay for a destin beach condo rental
Hey Daniel Ocean or anyone else familiar with LA, staying in Inland empire tonight near the ONT airport for a work trip. Any recommendations for food in the area?
this is the equivalent of asking someone who lives in Atlanta for food recommendations in Greenville SC. Ontario is like 2 hours away.
Yeah I know it’s way out, almost booked LAX but looked at a map and course corrected at the last minute. Just firing off a hope and a prayer
I have no idea about anything in the redneck capital of southern Cali, sorry. I recommend watching your wallet and stay away from the meth heads.
I believe there is a #Arizona State Sun Devils who lives out that way. Maybe MODEVIL ? I think snowfx2 knows a little about the IE I believe Corky Bucek is LBC maybe cal ?
You're 15 minutes from Pomona, which has a cool downtown area on W 2nd St by the Glasshouse Try The Rookery Alehouse or something high rated in the area and Acerogami for drinks No clue on Ontario, but have driven out to a couple concerts in Pomona before (Tame Impala playing a small room three nights before they headlined Coachella as a warmup)
The steel mill that we used for the end of Terminator II was located just off of Cherry in Fontana, but I think they tore it down to put in the speedway
wow. I thought we were friends. Ontario? C'mon man. Last time I was out there was for the bar exam. I'm in OC.
But for future reference there is a Benihana and a solid 4 Applebee's immediately nearby the airport. Honestly I would have just hit the In-and-Out but if you're having to entertain to any degree Porter's maybe? I've had to fly out of there a decent amount.
A day and night in Orvieto is just right. Easy by train. It’s an ancient walled hilltop town. Etruscan things to see. Famous Duomo. Famous deep well. Great views. Many very good restaurants. 3 large piazzas. You could probably book a 1/2 day wine tour from there. Being August you might find some restaurants, etc… are closed; but that will be the case everywhere in Italy. If not Orvieto, consider Napoli.
I checked out Kanazawa when I visited and all the Japanese ex-pats I met were very excited for me to visit there as it's a little off the beaten path. Really cool city that tends to get overlooked (understandable since Tokyo and Kyoto both offer so much). Stayed in a ryokan there and it was fantastic. Skip Osaka, nothing overly special about it. Gave me Myrtle Beach vibes. Got talked into it, eh? What kind of info are you looking for on it? General guidance? Location of the AirBnb seems pretty solid on Grace Bay, which is pretty but I think is a bit overrated. I would definitely rent a car to go out and explore the rest of the island some. Check out Chalk sound as it is stunningly blue (almost white-ish blue water). Rent kayaks from Big Blue Collective and go into the mangroves to see the young sea turtles everywhere. I made some notes for a friend but can't find them at the moment. If I can find them later on, I will share.
Ya pretty much what you said there. Just wanted to know some good spots. The Airbnb we are looking at comes with a Jeep we can rent. We love snorkeling so Chalk Sound would be ideal I would think. Thanks for the recommendations. If Grace Bay is overrated, do you have other areas we should look? We haven't rented the Airbnb just yet. Doing some final looking around.
As long as you have the Jeep, you'll be fine and the location being on the beach seems nice. You can't snorkel in the Sound, in fact, I don't think you are really allowed in it at all except maybe sticking your feet in, but it is pretty to see. If you play golf, their golf course is one of the nicer ones I have played in the Caribbean.
Ok good. The Jeep was one of the selling points of that Airbnb so we can get around. Oh ok I see. I assumed you could snorkel there after a quick Google search. The water looks amazing. All good info. Thanks again.
With 3 hours to kill I’d head to Root Down in C terminal. Then if you’re needing some dessert, grab some Little Man ice cream before heading back to B
