there is an onion bit from forever ago that these stories always make me think of. 'Im no gay dude, but this guy blowing me is wearing fantastic boots'
Shortest summary I can think of is a half-assed apology including quotes along the lines of: "'I'm 79 and am used to oppressing any person in the LGBTQ community but now I have an alleged gay relative and have been rocked with political pressure so I'm now a beacon of progress"
seriously. dead people murdered by gun violence is the only way that old piece of shit can get his prick warmed up enough to shove in ginni
fox news will run a nightly segment now on a made up stat of how the cost of diabetes tests have gone up 50% since Biden took office and Murdoch will have the word insulin banned from the airwaves
I don’t see a Pharma board so I don’t know where to ask. What did Biden give up/leverage to negotiate that price reduction. Those companies don’t just give up millions (billions?) in insulin profits for nothing.
I mentioned this not too long ago, but this is more indicative of the insulin market forces than anything Biden did, imo. Mark Cuban’s generic medicine company announced they’d have generic insulin soon at capped prices and California has plans to fund a nonprofit that will provide insulin to its residents at capped costs, a model that could be copied by other states. Their days of selling insulin at whatever price they wanted was significantly affected by those market forces.
Mark Cubans health care company is a huge disrupter. People can save a lot on by using it. https://costplusdrugs.com/
This was basically auburns greek life when I was in school. The met gala was wearing the civil war dresses for the old south party
so there was a change in law that was coming into effect in 2024 and as part of that Medicaid best price could exceed giving the product away for free I.e. companies would be paying Medicaid to use the insulin. Because of that change the companies were looking into dropping the list price and also the rebates to the pbms so that they weren’t under water but net price was the same to the pbms. I think timing of announcements was just done kind of opportunistically. I work in pharma pricing and market access which is negotiating with the insurance companies.
also the pbms were kicking and screaming about this change because they are addicted to rebates. They truly are the problem with list prices being so out of wack - net prices on insulin have only been about $100 for years. Employers know rebates inflate costs but want them anyway. All the shit you hear about pharma is partially a smoke screen since it’s only 10% of medical spending in the country but positioned as the poster child for greed, and in some cases rightfully so. Let me tell you about the abuse of the 340b program some time if you want to hear about another fucked up topic.

It’s not that I commit all the crimes. It’s just that they hate me so much for all the winning we did.

Encouraged me to start the #traddad movement. Chain smoke, drink at work, ignore your kids, cheat on your wife, steak for dinner every night. Follow my TikTok for additional content.
This is so fucking pathetic. I think it's Norway that has their rail system down to an exact science now that costs barely run over budget and they can build out new rail lines 10x quicker than the US can. I honestly think lots and lots of Millennials and Gen Zers have the desire to use public transit and get away from being forced to drive unnecessarily, but it's hard to do that when only a very small number of cities have decent rail service and it generally costs a lot more to live in those areas!
Always cracks me up when the first criticism to the Nordic model is always “but they don’t have minorities” and half the idiots saying it don’t realize that’s what they’re saying
