You guys remember when China started handing out stupid money to people and Ezequiel Lavezzi was the highest paid player in the world for a few years while Messi was at his peak? That shit was wild
One of my favorite funny money stories is I think it was Gervinho (Ivory Coast) was getting recruited to play in a Middle East league maybe 10 years ago and he would make a demand: you need to provide housing for my whole family. They would say ok. He would then add another demand. Just literally seeing how far they would go. IIRC the club finally pulled out of the deal when he requested helicopter transport to and from practice .
Shit. Indykaila reported it... But for real, I'm skeptical at all the links happening right now. Newcastle's recent transfer business hasn't really got to the public until it's basically done.
Newcastle and their big pile of money will be the club floated by every agent or club looking to generate interest in their player.
Saw that Dortmund is planning to offer like 15mil/y to him. Probably all citing the same source/story.
Gonna double the weekly wage of their highest paid players, who aren’t nearly as good (Big Mac and Reus). They need to lock him up long term in that case because their wage structure will be fucked with a capital Q. Is he worth it? Absolutely. Will everyone else who wants a new deal be worth it? Nah. They should use how we dicked up our shit for Sané as a cautionary tale.
I'm sure Liverpool wouldn't mind selling Gomez, but they are up against the homegrown number. And guys like Elliott and Bajectic are going to be under 21. Seems more likely they'd sell Matip and try and bring in a guy to pair with Konate for the long term.
technically it never started for you because United finished 35 points adrift last season in 6th place
Some talk about PSG moving Ekitike. Would love to see him go somewhere and get minutes. I don't think he should have left Reims in the first place but he died so Balogun could live.
0 chance imo he was very good before the WC and while his form dipped a bit after returning he also hasn’t been fully healthy since like January. I still think both Luka and Kroos return for another season but he’s absolutely the DM of the future and Camavinga’s continued explosion at like 4 positions doesn’t change that
well, that makes me feel better about having a Tchouameni Madrid shirt, but worse about to the idea of a Tchouameni/Kante/Enzo midfield.
also if you go through my posts (which I do NOT recommend) you’ll see I said time ultimately heals all wounds and if/when he makes himself available in the future the club will come back to the table. He’s just too good not to.
I think he’d have to actively regress for the club to move him, and while stranger things have certainly happened, I don’t see anything that would indicate that being an issue moving forward
I'd seen some stories that he has apparently been an asshole in training/locker room. Also, and mostly, because I don't think they'd have signed Isak if they got Hugo
He’s solid overall but has games where he dominates, followed by complete Houdini games. Generally Dutch international players are solid, plus he’s a former City academy kid. Not sure what Kusen wants for him, but I suspect he’ll bring in good monies.
Whaaaaaat. No way! Also, lol at the LFC board realizing now that investing all their money in one target wasn't a good idea.
They did this dumb shit where they said they wouldn’t bring in any players who wouldn’t improve their first 11. After playing Henderson and Fabinho, both guys who usually pick up an injury, a shit ton of games last year. I don’t know why they didn’t replace Ox two summers ago and Keita last summer with guys in the profile of Gini when they bought him and priced around £30-40m. They abandoned the transfer strategy that made them successful.
