I get you not agreeing with my take, but if you're genuinely still this baffled and confused about what I even have an issue with then I think that says more about you than me. This was my reply to your initial post, after all: You've talked about how cool it'd be if Checo "refused to give an inch", didn't "roll over", and competed hard with Max. All of those imply that Checo is being in some way deferential currently and that if he weren't it would have a meaningful enough effect as to make Max "melt the fuck down." What I've done in my posts is criticize the idea that Checo could choose to stop being deferential and that he would be in a position for that to have a meaningful effect by pointing out their significant gap in ability that almost always sees Checo start races lower than Max and finish them 10+ seconds behind him as well. Again, I understand if you don't agree with my point, but your refusal or inability to understand it is a you thing and there's only so much I can do to help you with that.
If roles were reveres yesterday, do you think Max would have been ok with it? I don't. I think he throw a tantrum if Checo did what Max did yesterday. At no point did I say that Checo could rival Max. You keep suggesting that and that was just never said. What I've said is Max would lose his shit if Checo did what Max did yesterday. I stand by that. Apparently you disagree with that but I'm not going to continue to go in circles about it bc this is really dumb.
Checo got three fastest laps on Max victories last season and I don't recall anyone making a big deal about it, so I don't see why yesterday would've been any different (except that it's extremely unlikely Checo would be able to close Max down from 15th). I do think though that if Max had been leading and wanted the fastest lap he would've just set one that Checo couldn't beat. And even if he wasn't okay with it, he's the #1 and Checo's #2. They're not equals on the team so it's nonsensical to expect them to have the same reaction when they don't have the same status. Also, I don't think you think Checo could rival Max. But I do think you think he could make life harder on the track for Max and I think that part's hilariously off base.
At no point have I said anything like that. Stop assuming things. Maybe that's the issue and why this has drug on. Either way, I won't respond anymore. Think what you want.
Gotcha, okay that's my bad. Don't know where I got the idea from that you thought Checo could make things hard for Max. Probably is just me making baseless assumptions.

Here are some absolute facts on the season… 1) Max is going to run away with the drivers title 2) Checo at no point in his career is or ever will be a #1 driver unless he’s in a back marker. 3) Max did nothing wrong yesterday. Nothing. He’s the alpha he sets his own rules. Lewis, Seb, Schumacher all did the same shit. Im bummed out that this season will be a lopsided shit show. Not only because we won’t have a competing title race but having such a huge gap will allow RB to basically R&D for next year and maintain or increase its lead for years to come.
I was listening to a podcast that was talking about the Red Bull design schedule and how the cost cap penalty is completely ineffective because they’ve built such a commanding position.
The cost cap does seem to have done its job in bunching up the midfield, but it’s going to make it basically impossible for Mercedes/Ferrari (lol) to catch up. RB is so far ahead, and with the cost cap it neutralizes the ability to spend big on development. It’s just another version of the advantage Mercedes had with their engine in 2014.
Regardless of fandom, I think all f1 fans should read his book. If you want more from the view of a driver, read jensons book.
Max goes all out every session while Checo builds up to it. Q1 time is pretty meaningless considering they both went faster than it in later sessions.
If true, then I take back everything I said yesterday. Going off the video of them post-race, it seemed like Checo was surprised Max had done it. If both went for it, that's awesome.
FWIW, I was talking about qualifying not practice. And Max didn't run in Q2 or Q3, hence why I used the Q1 time.
Christian said they both went for it the last lap and Checo pulled off after he was slow the first few corners
I don't trust a damn thing that man says lol. Seems odd that Checo would ask Max about it if he'd gone for it too but who knows.
I love that people think Danny Ric is going to take Checo’s seat when he isn’t even the first off the bench for RB. Helmet said Yuki would slide into the RB seat and then the AT reserve would drive in Yuki’s seat. Danny Ric is there to add humor in their YouTube videos and be “around” so that he can potentially get a seat somewhere else next season.
Even Latifi would grab a podium in this car. Checo will have to take a penalty at some point and if the competition is the same he will 100% be on the podium. No fan boy take here just reality.
I know, my bad on Max not running in Q2. Perez went faster by 5 tenths in Q3 so I’m saying using Max’s Q1 time is pointless because they both would end up going faster.
Extremely interesting thread on theories explaining how Red Bull have been able to achieve what is basically active suspension.
Lots of discussion lately about how dominant this Red Bull car is in the pantheon of dominant cars. Everybody should watch this. Just the third race of the beginning of Mercedes dominance. Safety car comes in on lap 47 and the Mercedes, while fighting each other, pull out a seven second gap to Perez in P3 in two laps… 2 laps! Toto has admitted that after this race they were massively de-tuning their engines so that it wasn’t nerfed by the FIA.
I can’t comprehend this other than they’ve figured out a natural physics solution to emulate what normally requires electronics to adjust the suspension of the car - which is cool as shit.
