The 2, 3, and 4 seeds lose in your region, and you lose to 5 seed from a mid major conference that has never advanced past the Sweet 16.
Oats style of basketball is thwarted by rock fights and he’s going to really struggle in his tournament career against veteran teams that play this style. throwing more talent at the situation clearly isn’t helping. He isn’t going to have a team this talented or a player like Miller again any time soon
I know Oats’ style prefers to let the runs play out. But you can’t convince me that going from up 9 at the under 12:00 to down 7 at the under 4:00 isn’t worthy of a timeout somewhere in there to calm guys down or make lineup changes.
Evidence suggests otherwise bud. Small sample size but teams playing this way have bounced him multiple times now when he had a clear talent advantage
Chuck and Griffen were the only guys not playing scared. The rest were pathetic. No one on the team was scared or hesitant about taking a shot all year, but tonight they all were.
3/27 from 3s will do it. I mean how do we pick the worse possible time for our worst shooting performance. Credit to SDSU but my goodness this loss falls on the players more than anything which sucks because I really loved this team.
Maybe, but the swing was so fast, most of it was accomplished in two minutes. They shaved 5 off in less than 30 seconds after the 3 and awful turnover from Miller.
dude we just played an awful game. His system had nothing to do with it. It was a horrible performance
No one seeds in the elite 8…the year we are the 1 overall seed, and on a 5 game streak of beating teams by 11+. can we opt to not play Maryland in the 2nd round next time? That seems to be like a thing at this point….
I’m not convinced. Small sample size for sure but it’s emerging as a trend. A&M and tennessee did it to him this year too.
He played tough as hell but you can tell he was hesitant from outside. He made some good drives though.
I think we were ready enough to play. Our best players can’t go 11 of 43. Can’t win a lot of games shooting 25%.
lot of football way of thinking in here. great season despite the loss. double conference champs and a s16 appearance is a great season for a team that green. miller injury hurt a lot and that was always going to be the case with this team. this tournament, and the next (maybe 2), will be a mess because of the covid year. great season, happy to have oats. i'm ready to run it back.
