I mean nobody can know that for sure, and we didn’t recruit him out of high school. But Oats wants to play more positionless basketball. He wants as many 6’6-6’8 guys as possible. The X factor with Oats’ teams has been the defense- when we play good defense we win and don’t we lose. When you have a bunch of long athletic guys in those height ranges it allows you to switch everything and makes defense much easier. Two years ago we had to play a much smaller lineup and we got eaten alive on D. Kinda worries me about that other FIU kid when you know you’re also going to play Sears and/or JQ and Bradley a lot… Plus he likes a 4 man that can stretch a defense from 3, and if we lose Clowney that guy is not on the roster. This guy has the size and shooting ability to give us that. Well possibly Walters but idk if he will be ready to play big minutes in year one.
It’s probably just me, but some of the balls that Milroe threw in that video look weird leaving his hands.
So I’m not crazy? It looked like he’s gripping it weird or something, and a couple of the throws looked like ducks, I mean they were on target but weren’t like tight spirals.
mac1 said... (original post) Still have at least 3 guys were r looking at., prob more.. only one I had seen mentioned here is Denver. No decisions been made yet either way on anymore internal transfers.
I will obviously be back loving them and rooting for them come November but it's very difficult for me to give two shits about who we get/lose right now and will be even harder to give two shits about how we play in the regular season (especially if we are playing well for most of it).
yeah it really broke my heart. Until we get over the hump it’s really hard to get invested and feel like we’ve got a shot. That shit really broke my back.
Sorry not sorry - watching that last 10 minutes live in the arena was the worst fucking horror film you could ever imagine. You could feel every Alabama basketball demon entering the building and pouncing. But this is the last of my woe is us posts on the subject.
there is no amount of money anyone could pay me to get me to go watch live a game i'm emotionally invested in. never, not even if there was a fire.
Fuck all that noise. Bama basketball isn’t cursed. This season was the first time we’ve been a legitimate contender in the last 50 years. We’ve gotta be at that level more consistently if we really hope to win a title. Some of the best teams in the history of college basketball didn’t win a title. If our AD truly invests in the program we’ll win a title and this year was just proof of what we can be consistently
This Mike Rodak guy is quickly approaching Goodman levels of journalism. He grabbed the only part of the article that made it sound like he wouldn’t be eligible, ignoring the next sentence that said he just needs to graduate to be eligible Fuck that guy
According to a BOL poster, Downs and Benson are dominating. Downs is the next Minkah and Benson is our best receiver currently.
i do like the idea of a ground and pound offense with a defense and coaching staff with a huge chip on their shoulder.
Don’t know if true but here. I thought he was a solid prospect. Nothing special IMO. Can be replaced by someone without the issues he was facing. We can’t really be dealing with shit like that rn.
Maybe the reality is that while we had a dominant scorer in Brandon Miller this year, we didn't have a bunch of consistently reliable options behind him. It always felt like if we had an off shooting night or night where Miller didn't dominate, we were very beatable. JQ was inconsistent through much of the season, Sears would come and go, and as has been discussed recently Burnett and Griffen did not contribute much offensively. Is it possible that while we might not have the top end ability of Brandon Miller next year , we may have more players that can score consistently compared to this year? Stated otherwise, while we seemed like an offensive juggernaut at times, at the end of the day we honestly needed more offense. So is the answer to our problem that we need more offense?
it’s a good thing we have a QB on the roster who is a legitimate running threat as well. Jalen in the option would be a great addition to a smashmouth, downhill running game.
Yes. We need more consistent offense. We need some bigger guys as well that can handle the physicality a bit better. Rebounding. Defensively. Offensively driving. Defense didn’t lose us that game.
