Average batter in Cooperstown is roughly 60 WAR. Jose Ramirez turned 30 three weeks ago and is at 39.6 WAR right now. Hmm.
i love this team, but we just don't have the bats. be nice if dolan would open up the check book more than once in a generation
This year has been a stunning success. The young talent is exciting and I can't wait to see how they develop. The only spots I'd like to see someone totally new every day is center field and catcher. I think Straw could be a great fourth outfielder and Hedges can be a great rotational catcher but they can't start. I'd imagine Naylor will be the every day catcher next year. They need an average+ bat in center and a legitimate DH or first baseman with some power in free agency or trade. Ownership needs to pay but fans need to start supporting this team. They're young, our future hall of fame 3rd baseman is locked up for the rest of his prime, go support them.
Really missed a golden opportunity last night with the bases loaded and one out. Up 1 already. Cole throwing a ton of pitches. You just have to put a few more runs on the board there. That’s where they lost the game imo.
Doesn't get more frustrating than that inning 0-15 with RISP in the postseason. We get a runner on first and its a guaranteed GIDP, then they blast a 2-run HR after a bad call. Of course a missed ball goes against us.
What a time for Northeast Ohio sports fandom right now: -The Guardians are matching the Yankees blow for blow well ahead of their scheduled breakout. -The Cavs might have the best young core in basketball. -The Browns -The Buckeyes are undefeated.
Excited for the season, hope we start by at least splitting the four game series in Seattle, they played us really tough last year.
I watched pretty much all of it. Plesac was awful dog shit. Curry was great out of the pen and Jose did Jose shit. Clase blowing a save was weird.
Imagine hearing we'd be 0-2 in Bieber's first two starts, MacKenzie is hurt, and we got nothing from Civale and Quantril, yet somehow we're 4-2
.621 Team OPS ... second to worst team in the league is .657 Worst in the league in BOTH OBP (.297) and slugging (.325) 19 HR ... second to worst team in the league has 24 Its like the whole team is averaging like the 7th or 8th best hitter on most other teams
That was ridiculous. Love that we finally ditched Zunino for Bo. Would love to see Brennan and Freeman get more time. Will also be pissed if Allen, Bibee, or Gavin get sent down for Cal. Just stick with the 6 man rotation for awhile.
