Our direct neighbors are awesome and would never say shit but who knows on the others. I'd like to know what the fine is because if it's reasonable we might just do it and pay up. Most annoying part of all this is that we're adding 6 trees in 2 weeks, not like we're stripping the property or anything
Anyone know about this Westside Papermill place? Sounds like it’s geared more toward office space than retail but I’m excited to have Glide on the west side.
Ate at Bacchanalia tonight. The definition of perfection. Obviously the food was exquisite but I don’t think I’ve ever experienced better service. Not an ounce of fat on that place.
Agree. We had table side cocktails made for us. Bread was amazing. I love it. Wish it wasn't $6-700 a couple
We got out of there for a hair under $500 but only got two cocktails and the wine parings with the first and second courses. Oh and I got a port. But yeah, it’s not cheap.
You could spend the afternoon shopping at "The Collection at Forsyth", take in a game at "The Gathering at South Forsyth", then head home to one of the million "Fieldstone at Creekside Forest" cluster-home neighborhoods.
South Forsyth? Really? I know it’s a couple exits up from the North Point area but going further and further outside of 285 isn't great imo. Families aren’t going to weeknight games in big numbers - never have, never will. I think that part of the reason that the battery works is that it’s still accessible by 285. Being at least 15 miles north of the perimeter area means an absolutely hellish drive during the majority of Tuesday and Thursday night games, even if you work near 285/400. Good luck if you work closer to midtown/downtown.
Could they not just take over one of the billion parking lots around The Battery? Seems like it would make logistic sense....but we have to spread everything out
Nowhere for it to go over there, unless they got into overpaying for large office buildings to tear down on the other side of 75. I for one applaud Forsyth for wasting taxpayer money on something no one asked for.
Forsyth can't have much money to fund this, right? There is nothing but homes and horse farms up there. Cobb at least has a decent bit off businesses to fund the wasted $$ for the Battery
Forsyth County ain’t what it was 20 years ago. Lots of money has moved into the myriad country clubs and massive neighborhoods. I don’t know whether it’ll work, but the entire blueprint they’re running is to copy the Braves and bring the team to where the fans are. Blame The Battery succeeding for this.
I graduated from a Forsyth County HS in ‘06 when there were just 3 public high schools in the county. Fast forward to today and there are 7 public high schools. Five of them have 2,000+ students, too.
The tax base typically comes from corporate elements. Do they have much or is it all property tax driven?
Been meaning to go. We did Lazy Betty with another couple not too long ago and while food was excellent, the service/ambiance is not what I expect at that price range. I had just done a 1-Michelin star tasting menu in NYC a week before and it was cheaper and way better. Bacchanalia looks like a different ball game.
Much respect to Anson Carter “Shows a lot of disrespect for the hockey community to drop this tonight. The entire hockey world knows what happening tonight. It shows me a total disconnect.. that’s why hockey has failed in this community twice I’m focused on the roots, not the fruits. Best of luck to them, I’m excited for them, but it’s disappointing.”
Trying Mujo tonight. Heard good things, and I've never had a true omakase sushi experience, so I'm pretty excited. Have wanted to try something like this since watching Jiro Dreams of Sushi for the first time.
Going to a concert this Friday (yes...that one). What do you guys recommend for a pregame beverage around the stadium?
Where should I have dinner tonight? Prefer BBQ if there are new good spots. Don’t have a car so prefer to be close to downtown (no Heirloom for me)
we have a relatively bad BBQ scene in general, but particularly close to downtown. Fox Brothers at the Works is your best option. Das BBQ down Memorial is great scene, but food is meh. Sweet Auburn in Highlands in decent, but better restaurants nearby.
im actually in nyc rn so not sure what weather is like but you could take streetcar (or uber) up to Biggerstaff Brewing (also a new marcus samuelsson spot next door). Good beers and good food. Also the bar nextdoor at Staplehouse is fun. just thinking something public transit adjacent. Noni's is also on the streetcar line over there in Sweet Auburn/Edgewood. Downtown walking options are limited to our dismay.
or take MARTA up a few stations to Cypress Street Pint and Plate. Its basic gastropub food but a solid spot to watch NBA/NHL and one of the better patios in ATL. Argosy in EAV if you are open to uber is similar. Really strong beer list. Then could walk over to midway pub to grab a few drinks and watch some of the games.
