We used to play poker every Thursday night in the dorm with a group of friends. During the game one buddy got a phone call that his grandmother died. He took the call while in the hand and came back to the game. One of our friends said “Sorry about your grandma. You OK?” He choked up a bit and got out “yeah”. “Well, I’m going to have to raise you a dollar for holding up the game as is my rule” and proceeded to bet every opportunity in the hand and won it. It would surprise you none he went on the become a lawyer.
