I really wish these things would put the ship class in the title to save me the time of looking it up, because I have to know
also, seems like those Ukrainian suicide drone boats need a standoff weapon. Kludge a TOW on top of it or hell some unguided rockets
If they're mostly attacking ships in port, firing a missile off a remote control boat at a ship pierside is a great way to accidently hit a hospital or school.
You think these armchair generals care about that shit? "Are they Russian kids in those schools and hospitals? Then fuck them" - Americans from 5000 mi away
I mean, that ship was attacked in the middle of the Black Sea though. How many schools or hospitals are located in the middle of the Black Sea?
I’m no strategist or war gamer, but even setting a trash can on fire at the Ministry of Defense in Moscow seems like a much more dangerous provocation than an incursion of a dozen technicals and 50 men across the border. On the other hand, not going to be a lot of focus on any matters at the front while the Russian hierarchy figures out who to blame for the Defense Ministry getting attacked and the generals and key staff head for the house they bought their mistress outside Moscow to hide.
Correct me if I am wrong, but this latest escalation was partially because Russia was concerned about access to fresh water in the Crimea regions they stole. At least that was the original excuse I heard for why they were escalating it.
"needed for training"? We don't use M1A1s anymore, so those are probably the ones they're getting, right?
it says no I call on General Dynamics in Lima, they are building completely new tanks for Ukraine. More than have been announced, if I remember right the number is 100 or so in production right now but it will take this whole year to build them. We aren’t giving them deplete uranium armor they are getting the Abrams Lite versions that we sold the Saudis The tank plant in Lima is so damn busy thanks to Russia
Those training area are pretty wild when you’re out there. The OPFOR destroy even the most elite units so the Ukrainians will get great experience if they have the time.
SFW but shows the hell that is urban combat- seems like these two Ukrainians got shot up *Removed as the video was a fake made by Russians
Interesting for sure! I believe the publicly released info is that the US is refurbishing a few dozen older units (getting rid of the DU armor mainly) to send. Quicker than making entirely new tanks. I do know the ones that just arrived in Germany are specifically training units and will not be the ones sent into Ukraine.
Proxy wars are big business. Good for the American people because we get to have jobs and don't have to worry about our sons and daughters and friends dying. And we get to follow along on Twitter and watch cool drone vids of the fighting. It's like a video game but you're just spectating!
I think we're worried about our allied Ukrainian sons, daughters and friends dying from a Russian invasion so we're supportive by association of the American military complex profiting in an effort to prevent that.
