Nantz called his up and down on 18 a top 5 up and down in the history of the sport. He had no choice but to ride the wave.
If someone called me up and asked me to come play the Charles Schwab and Canadian Open I would not turn down those opportunities. I'm sure a few of his students did not mind having their short game 1 hour lesson postponed by a week or two.
I'm not talking about the tournaments obviously, i'm talking about him doing podcasts on Rumble or with the Barstool goofs
I mean you become the villain when you compare yourself to Rory Fucking McIlroy other than the driver on RUMBLE. He had to accept the invite to play the Schwab but sorry, milkshake duck. edit: only guy in the field not to break 80, woops.
The heel turn on Block has been fascinating to watch. Not all that plugged into golf media, but the comments here and on Reddit have been absolutely vicious. I’ve decided to never play well as an am in a major personally
Currently walking with the Florida, FSU and Pepperdine groups at Grayhawk in Scottsdale David Ford and Sargent paired up later
Gordon Sargent is coming back to school next year lol that's amazing. Must be getting some nice NIL money Illinois fan base turned out like I've never seen at a college golf tournament This last Illinois UNC and Vandy group has Sargent (#2 WAGR), Horn (#4) and Adrien Dumont de Chassart (#11). They're incredible. Illinois kid is very handsome imo Need to go catch up to Stanford, ASU, TTU, Texas etc soon Spoiler
if he’s eligible for pgatouru next year, that might be a better track to the tour then trying to grind something out through the summer/fall
You don’t have to be into the Good Good stuff to be into the championship they set up. A huge mashup of mini-tour guys, KFT qualifiers, and a few content guys.
All of the different golf youtube groups just end up copying each others content. They all have their own championships, breaking series, x vs y etc.
For sure, but I’ll give the Good Good crew this one, it was a new idea to the space and provided some opportunities for guys all around the fringes of the game. Yes calling it a championship is a bit much but I like it and the possibilities of that may follow
I believe he's just saying Good Good and the like's popularity leads to more of the same type people on the golf course. I don't necessarily understand what the problem is there though. They're mostly good golfers having fun and, from everything I've seen, respecting the game/courses they play. Scharff can be a loud mouth, but other than that, hating on them comes off as lame old man jealousy.
I believe that they contribute to an overall social media world that leads to me getting reels of douchbags hitting drives off beer cans and then shotgunning them. And yeah, more of those assholes on the course. This might be a stretch, don’t care. Enjoy them if you do. I generally blow past any talk about these types of dudes but I’ve been extra annoyed by how much I’ve been inundated with it on IG in particular
They don't do anything like that, so you're blaming the wrong guys I agree about hating that type of "content"
Bob Does Sports is maybe the only popular one that does? And I'm not really a fan of theirs outside of Fat Perez.
barstool guys will drink, mostly because their sponsorship deals, but they’re not showing them getting hammered or anything
in fact one of their 6 members is an addict in recovery so I don't think they even would have it around.
Since all of us bro golf fans are being so brave, what are our favorite non-GG(Grant and Micah included) channels? I really enjoy me some BustaJack.
I consume little of bob does sports content but follow them on ig and watched their Keegan video. Seem like good dudes. Cuts seems to have some anger issues but it’s good content unless I’m missing some other stuff.
GG, GM Golf, Grant, Bryan Bros, BustaJack, and BDS are the ones what I watch… but don’t always make it through the BDS ones if the golf or guests are boring.
Bustajack is growing on me. I like the series they are doing this year. 50 courses in 50 weeks, picking the best public course in each state. They are going to do a world tour next year. Bryon bros is always good. Wesley's short game is world class and George has a game good enough to be a fringe Korn Ferry guy. Bob Does Sports Micah and Grant have been putting out some great content lately.
Yeah we're all watching the same ones then. I like Zac Radford sometimes too. He plays some really awesome looking courses I don't see on other channels.
I don't like Good Good either but that's beside the point because I'm still confused by what YouTube crews means?
According to portlandspartan, all these youtube golf channels are full of frat boy chuds, taking up tee times. This is infringing on the early retirees and there precious golf courses. This is an absolute tragedy, and I think we need to stop people from filming content on the course. Tuck your damn polo shirts in, and stop disrespecting the game!!!
