Dude better be playing on a destroyed knee because he’s doing the opposite of everything he claims to be.
I’ll try but Tkachuk rooting for Tatum just because they “grew up together” made me irrationally angry.
I know refs weren’t the main reason we lost but man they fucked up so many crucial plays. The offensive foul on Brown that Spo had to waste a challenge to reverse and instead of giving Brown the foul on a clear hook and forcing Celtics to have to sit him until the second half that come up with some bs not enough contact on either side and allowed Brown score to count. Or the Jimmy offensive foul call that they have allowed Williams to get away with all series but because White bitchass falls to the ground and start grabbing his face and Tatum starts crying to the ref they call the offensive foul. And since basketball has the worst review system in sports when they review it to see if it’s a flagrant they are not only that it’s not a flagrant but it isn’t even an offensive foul so we still lose two points. Not mention the the time thing at the end. Missing calls during a game is one thing but to blow multiple calls that went to replay is just deplorable. Obviously Bam and Jimmy are main issues with last nights game but even with them playing as bad as they did having the refs blow multiple calls that lead to one point loss at the buzzer has me ready to just stop what the NBA all together. Fuck this scam as league.
I never complain about officiating. Happens on both sides and really you shouldn’t allow your team to get to that point. Can’t let refs dictate your outcome. Jimmy and bam 9/36. Duncan two open missed 3s. Jimmy missing two free throws in the fourth. Bam just getting abused by everyone. Absolutely no rebounding sans Martin. That Lowry throwing the ball into bam- only could happen to that bum Lowry. Even if it’s bad luck. But I still am trying to understand what Jimmy is supposed to do in that situation against white. Sorry whites jaw was there but it wasn’t intentional. How exactly do you change your shooting form to avoid that contact. The hook was wrong call, but whatever, it happens. But the jimmy thing just makes no sense to me.
So are Spo, Jimmy and/or Bam gone after this collapse is finally complete? Heads are going to have to roll
that play had me furious because the ref was initially trying to do that thing that Reggie complained about waiting to see if the ball went in before calling the defensive foul, but then he see Tatum crying in his face turns and looks down and sees White on the ground holding his face like he just got hit by Tyson and decides to blow his whistle and call an offensive foul. Dude watched the entire play and at no point was he thinking offensive foul until he looked at Tatum and White reaction after the fact. So basically Gabe and Caleb need to just fall on the ground and roll around like their teeth got knocked out whenever they are defending Williams in the paint.
Sorry but the most egregious one was smart continually pushing Duncan and Duncan getting the foul. Celtics got gifted an early bonus and then got half a dozen cheap FTs on marginal a best calls.
I’m over it atp. Worst loss of my sports watching career but at least there’s another game. Everything about this season has been extremely improbable and extremely difficult. No reason to believe this team can’t go up to Boston and ruin their night. We watched Jimmy score 6 points in a home game 5 and bounce back with 47 in their building. I understand why folks are pessimistic but this shit ain’t over.
It honestly is barely phasing me because I’m on such cloud 9 with the panthers. But even then, I’m just annoyed at how obviously they were robbed last night when you remember that an inconclusive review took 3 points off the board last year.
Also that four point play on the goaltending was bullshit. Should just be two and move on. Fine- rule says shoot and one, OK. But who did anything warranting a technical. I really don’t let it bother me. Jimmy is the only player on our team that would start on theirs. At this point they probably would only take butler and Martin on their roster. Maybe Vincent; but I’m not sure they even want Bam; rather Williams and Horford given size and ability to rebound which bam gets abused on. Someone could argue were without our third and fourth best player, which is probably a stretch, but illustrates a point in oladipo and herro. Although I’d probably argue they should be moved as it seems like addition by subtraction and team is better without them. Our two Bam is way too streaky and is a three at best on a championship team. And Miami play Lowry with significant minutes. That’s a poorly constructed roster. Beating Milwaukee was sweet enough. Fuck New York for the 90s, Getting up 3-0 was fantastic. Being the first to give up 0-3 seems sad on paper but given this roster being swept before the series was a lot of people’s predictions. Ending 4-0 sweep seems like what some analytics were saying. They’re just overwhelmingly more talented than Miami.
That’s fine. I won’t argue against there being zero excuse. This team is cute and all but there needs to be off-season moves… of which I’m not sure there’s much you can do. Other than herro or bam, and now maybe Martin, who’s even worth anything in a trade. The whole roster is more valuable here than elsewhere.
This. Regardless of what happens, this is a flawed as fuck team that’s on a 3 week dream run. (Same with the panthers)
Yeap Bam would be perfect for their team you have to primary playmakers would get open lanes or threes coming off his screens and if defenders jumped them he would be able to roll to the lane and get easy dunks
Call me Whitney Houston then. Williams is a better player for Boston than Bam is for Miami. It doesn’t make sense on pure athleticism, but bam is just so frustrating to watch.
NGL, thought it had to be game 4 or 6. Didn’t think 7 would win. I doubted- but I’m just a pessimist by nature. I don’t think a healthy Tatum makes a difference tonight. Boston just looked uninterested and Miami wanted it way more. That Boston team is super weird.
I was looking at the game 6 PC from Spo again this morning and after seeing how things played out dude definitely felt like he found something in the 4th qtr to slowdown Boston offense.
great coaches make adjustments on the fly, good coaches adjust at halftime, bad coaches figure out the adjustment on the busride home. Spo is a great coach;
