Florida vs GT tomorrow. Can't imagine how taxing it is to play 36 holes in a single day of match play vs elite competition with the temperature nearing 100

    I can already see it...

You're gonna battle the back issue for a week before you dare even swing a club. Gonna get bad feedback from the muscles when you do swing again. You'll say "Fuck it. Let's just go on the trip and see what happens." Because you're worried about the back, you're gonna club up and swing easy and find yourself playing some great golf.

    I can see it.

Wasn’t aware of that place before going; we got there early and walked around town some before eating in the clubhouse but were in a rush leaving to catch a train back to Edinburgh. That tee shot on 18 is so intimidating, caddie gave me a line then I looked another 20 yards left; hit a really good one and was able to hit a putt from about 30-40 yards off the green to within 20 feet and got some cheers from the clubhouse

I’ve kind of decided that golf trips for me are about seeing and having fun on course I can’t usually play. Not about playing well.

If I want to play good golf I’ll just stay on my weak 6300 from the tips “home course” and continue to hit bump and run 8 irons anytime I’m close instead of putting the ball in the air(to be fair though that 8 is a real weapon).

Lol...yeah shoooting an 82 as a 10-11 handicap is hard to believe. If you want to be skeptical, look up my post from last year where I shot a 34(-1) on the front nine of our 3 day on my way to a 78.

I was referring more to the "couldn't finish 18" to shooting an 82 the next round. I believe you buddy, no worries.

High of 82F today with a significant breeze here in Scottsdale, so really nice.

Gators played great and won a close one.

Have the Toulon Austin and love the look/feel; it’s an older model with the dark grey head and the black stroke lab shaft. I’m not set on keeping the stroke lab for good, but I’ve had it for a few years now and it works well for me

With a 6 man scramble, I’m not sure how much it matters, but if the Calcutta was up to 30k, I would sure like to know if one of the teams had a PGA Pro on it before I started putting money down.

This ^^^^ is why him not using his full name and being aloof to who he is matters. It matters to everyone who put any money down on any team in his Calcutta.

You think the person(s) who spent thousands on the teams in 2nd & 3rd would have wanted to know they were betting against a team that had a guy a couple years removed from the tour?!?

So they did the calcutta bet after the first round and the fact that JB Holmes was playing in the tournament didn't make it's way around to the guys doing the betting? I just don't see how that would remain a secret.

I said the same thing itt earlier but now that I read his account of the situation, I can see how it's possible for the following reasons...

Prior to the tournament....the rules said it was a shotgun start. He could've either gotten there very last second before everyone went out to their starting holes, or he got there around when everyone else did but he didn't really walk around, go to the range, got lost in the shuffle of hundreds of dudes not paying attention just trying to get beer ahead of going out on the course, etc...

During the 1st round...the rules he posted said that since it's a 6 man scramble (wtf at that btw?!?) then 1 "observer" would be with the group. Therefore, if that 1 observer didn't recognize him it's entirely possible no one else was going to be close enough to him to really recognize him either.

After the round...he said in his explanation that he wasn't there for the Calcutta. He very well may have just left the course immediately following his teams last hole :idk:

Again, he did a weird and dumb thing and if I were playing in that tourney I'd be pissed but I do now see how it's totally believable that he wasn't "caught" until day 2.

I drive by it on the way to much better courses 45 min south. I would recommend the Ocean City area courses like Lighthouse Sound, Rum Pointe and Bayside, although pricier. About the same distance to Dewey except south instead of north.

Gallery tickets for a single day at the US Open at LACC are $330 each on LACC's website... is that normal for a major?

I've gotten free tickets to Genesis a couple times but that's it for golf tournaments for me and was kind of shocked to see those prices
