I chose to listen to Zach Lowe instead this morning. I don't know if it was worse than those Ringer options, but it probably wasn't better. I just need to stop listening to his pods because I think he's very bad at hosting them.
what was bad about his pod? Deciding between that and the Hoop Collective right now, which I don't really love generally.
Lowe is just so all over the place as a host. It's like a Family Guy episode sometimes. He goes on these five-minute rants about six different things and never really gets to the point of half of them because he gets distracted by something else he says. The conversation goes all over the place and back without a ton of rhythm. And he has these weird moments where it's like he's trying to be quirky because someone told him that he was too serious about basketball and they come across as weird to me. I can listen to some of them depending on the guest, but I think last night's felt worse because he started literally right after the game ended and he's probably not very good at doing that kind of thing on the fly compared to someone who is more natural at that stuff as a host.

I haven’t been able to bring myself to listen to that Rewatchable. I’m sure I will over the 4th of July week when there’s nothing going on and I’ll hate myself for it
Apple TV sucks so I ended up listening to JVG on Russillo's pod. It was like JVG did film on Russillo and decided to steal his gimmick when he went full on "and then people were like 'Boston won game 4 because they went to Top Golf' and I was like 'what?!?!'" for about 15 minutes.

I went back and listened to his post game five and 6 episodes which were two hours each and mainly uninterrupted. The post game seven ep was barely an hour and roughly 25% ads. Hearing his dad talk the Cs you do see where he gets it. Admittedly it is pretty cool they’re able to do that for fifty years.

He is up, so at least that's good. but here is a comment re: appearing on the RR pod: After he came on Russillo’s show a few months ago, when it was blatantly obvious the guy was a total charlatan, a bunch of in depth Reddit posts were made elaborating on just what made him a charlatan. And not just a charlatan. An arrogant piece of shit too. I imagine it was extremely difficult for him to read. So I’m not surprised he harbors Reddit resentment. As far as I can recall, absolutely none of it was racial. Of course that’s always an element for some people, but certainly wasn’t the dominant case here. Dude is a clown.
