I mean we're already weeding out teams that aren't viable. It isn't a stretch to see that progress imo. It's also telling the that the realignments are coming more and more often
I mean yeah obviously, but your point that they’ll slide them down networks is wrong, those networks will still need content. they aren’t going to run dead air
My point is that the continued poaching and reorganizing is going to accelerate the divide between the amount of money sec schools get compared to Big 12 schools. That is going to continue to have on-field ramifications that will make consistent competition more difficult.
People here love and I mean love football, so yes that league would prob get watched. SCAR will keep playing football against someone and that will also be heavily followed.
RIP the Iron Bowl too!!!. SEC "We're just gonna throw shit at the wall next year and have no real plan"
I want Auburn to play the dumbest schedule possible. OU Texas Aggies Scar Mizzou Kentucky Vandy Arkansas
its going to be completely imbalanced but with the playoff going to 12 teams it shouldnt matter other than which SEC team gets the top 4 bye (and #1 seed for that matter)
Someone is going to get fucked hard. The home/away schedules are gonna get messed up like it did with out games. What's dumb is doing a temporary schedule never gives it a chance to even out if you have a really hard A year, you never get to the B year
How can you force a team to play a P5 OOC game? Pretty weird, was that actually easier than 9 SEC games?
Pretty sure it has been required for a while. You have to play a P5 team which includes, Georgia Tech or Notre Dame/BYU/Army.
yea been that way for years some schools wanted to keep it even with going to 9 b/c notion was expanded CFP would value strength of schedule...but seems like no chance now; esp if CFP wont give credit for SoS.
so will have 7 votes, believe they will need 9, starting next summer when the expansion is official. by then ESPN should have an idea of their inventory with WWE and Pac12 deals done.
We’re not gonna play 11 P5 games so I imagine we cancel some future OOCs when 9 conference games happens
Yeah, I imagine we cancel every future OOC P-5 series (besides FSU) when the 9 conference game schedule happens. I know we have Miami in 24 and 25, and then NC State, Cal, Arizona St, Colorado, UCF, USF, and Notre Dame at various points over the next 10 years.
Same for Bama. They have 2 P5 ooc games each year from 2025-2034. I’m guessing they are gonna be cancelling a bunch of the secondary ones like Ok St, Boston College, Arizona etc. Otherwise they would only have 6 homes games every other year and I doubt the administrators want to lose revenue from a 7th home game.
I doubt Georgia does either. We scheduled out 2 P5 ooc games because it provides more value to season ticket donors and with the expanded playoff in mind. 11 P5 games plus a powderpuff is the way.
