I think the only way forward is to just push through this bump. A few friendly casualties are inevitable on our way to a "push button war". We just need to refine their programming. So what if a few drone operators get killed?

I posted this early in this thread but my buddies uncle works for a military contractor and was in Afghanistan. His company was in Ukraine before everything started. They had hundreds of people just sitting around looking like normal people on laptops and they're monitoring phone calls all day. Russia was planning attacks and giving orders via regular cell phones and military phones with no or terrible encryption. Helicopters with Russian special forces would land and the Ukrainian special forces were already there waiting in ambush. Ukraine knew what Russia was doing the moment the commanders were told their orders.

Not sure if this has been discussed, but Russian gas giant Gazprom has its own militias it has been sending to ukraine comprised of its security personnel and recruits. up until the invasion Gazprom was one of the biggest UEFA sponsors.

If you take that Orwell quote and put it in the context of 2002 when the sabres were rattling for an invasion of Iraq, I’m not sure anything ever written could have made Bush, Cheney, or Rumsfeld cum harder.
