Alabama played host to 2024 big man Aiden Sherrell for an official visit last September. Sherrell has yet to return to Tuscaloosa since then, but the Detroit (Mi.) Prolific Prep product is continuing to maintain contact with Bama’s staff. “It’s been pretty good,” Sherrell told BamaOnLine this week. “Even though the coaches left, the new staff jumped right on me right away. They talk with me frequently. The head coach talks with me a lot. I definitely love their playing style, for sure. They definitely sit well in my options.” After staff turnover at Alabama, Austin Claunch is the assistant coach who Sherrell is in contact with the most. His primary point of contact at Bama continues to be head coach Nate Oats. “I’m speaking with Coach Oats the most,” Sherrell said. “He definitely sees me being a big part of the team. He’ll play me versatile and in multiple spots. He’ll be able to use me to my max potential. He definitely feels like he can mold me into the NBA player I want to be, into a lottery pick.” So, does Sherrell have plans to return to Alabama for another visit? “Not as of right now,” Sherrell replied. “But I definitely would consider coming back for sure.” The programs who are heavily recruiting Sherrell are Cal, Michigan State, Ohio State, and UConn. The Buckeyes will host him for an official visit from June 8-10. An official visit to UConn is likely to transpire as well. Sherrell is leaving the door open to a potential reclassification. “That’s something that’s still on the table,” Sherrell said. “I’ve been thinking about reclassifying sometime in December and getting that early jump to whatever program I go to so I can get acclimated to everything. “It’s 50-50,” Sherrell added. Sherrell unveiled a top eight in January that featured Alabama. He told us, however, that with the coaching changes at his top schools, his recruitment is wide open now. Aiden Sherrell on Alabama’s Nate Oats: “I feel like [he] can make me into a great NBA player.” Sherrell did not attend a game at Coleman Coliseum last season, but paid close attention to Alabama’s 2022-2023 campaign. “I think it was a great season,” Sherrell said. “They played as a team. Great coaching, also. It was actually fun to watch them. “I feel like they have a versatile playing style,” Sherrell continued. “They let their guys play different spots. It’s positionless basketball. Definitely, the coaching is great. I feel like Coach Oats can make me into a great NBA player.” Following his official visit last fall, Sherrell told us that Alabama “set the bar super high” for what to expect from future visits. Sherrell continues to hold that trip in high regard. “When I took my visit, it was a great environment. I loved it a lot,” Sherrell said. “Great coaches. It felt like a family environment.” Per On3’s Class of 2024 rankings, Sherrell is the No. 17 overall prospect in the country. He also checks in as the No. 2 center and the third-ranked player in California, where his AAU team is based. Alabama fans, also be sure to join the discussion about Aiden Sherrell on the The BOL Round Table. There’s always a lot of great team, recruiting, and off-topic conversations going on. So, we look forward to talking with you all there!
Nicholls's probable starter is Jacob Mayers, the Southland Freshman of the Year. He holds a 9-1 record with a 1.93 ERA.
I guess reading more into it adding 2 new teams, expanding the playoffs, and not sure we will get paid for the 9th I understand it more for 2024 but if we don’t go to 9 games soon it will a damn decade before we play everyone in the SEC.
I will never stop blaming Texas and OU for this garbage. Well them and the people running things that are juat after more millions. Every one else is playing 9 conference games are they not? And we're the ones acting all scared it's gonna hurt us for the playoffs.
If they don’t change it we will play Auburn every year and then rotate the other 7 teams so we’d play everyone home and away in 4 years. It will eventually go to 9 when ESPN pays more.
Is basketball going to land any of these transfers or are we just going to sign Dom Welch 2.0 and take a year off competing?
I don’t care for Rodak. To be AL .com’s beat reporter, I expect you to break stories occasionally. He kept getting scooped in his own backyard.
I am not too familiar with Talty, but I’m not gonna fault any of those people for taking issue with Rodak. He was insufferable during the Miller saga and definitely parroted some disingenuous headlines in what seemed like a pretty obvious attempt to draw attention to himself
I've seen some Talty tweets, idk seems ok. If he "exposed" the dipshits with the t-shirts, good, fuck those guys. The other guy running with the Kai Spears story is way more indefensible, fuck him and the NYT.
we'll get no one notable but somehow make an elite 8 run because single elimination tournaments are dumb and random.
This kid earned an offer in camp and could be committing soon. https://247sports.com/player/joseph-ionata-46135125/ https://www.on3.com/db/joseph-ionata-150813/
