In the Mercedes race recap on YT they say that teams place photographers near cranes specifically for that reason. And say their inbox is always full for their aerodynamics engineers when a car gets hoisted
Why did checo wait so long to charge? He was down to 2 seconds and gaining. If he had started pushing two laps earlier, he gets p3
First 10-15 laps were fun but then they spaced out and the top 8 almost all had a 6+ gap for most of the race. Weird race, but it was fun early. Good day for Merc but still way behind RB. Back to back rough weeks for Checo.
I think if George gets a title winning capable car, he may end up being one of the more hated drivers on the grid
That’s about in line with where the car is currently. And even the Alpine is progressing at a better rate.
Charles was beyond pissed at the development of the car. It’s just a fucking mess. They have no idea what it’s doing or why.
The one that makes the most sense is Charles chassis is cracked from the Miami wreck in qualifying. It hasn’t driven well since then.
It’s possible… but he seemed to be more concerned on how it responds to the tires and how bipolar it is. Carlos went from 2nd to 5th so both chassis can’t be broke. The car is just a fucking mess. Race strategy is still horrendous and I don’t think they hired the right guys to fix any of it.
Feels like the new regs are actually working in terms of creating parity but you’ve just got Max being a Cyborg ruining it all
They've done two things closed up the field from the top to the bottom it's as close as it's been. But on the flip side the cost cap has prevented anyone from catching a runaway team. There also has to be some discussion on how difficult it now is to follow closely. Last year it was great in the first year of the new regs, but this year everyone figured out how to direct their dirty air and it's made it harder to overtake. The other thing is we've now had two of the last three races with no yellow flags or safety cars. The races have been less exciting even down the field. I'd be interested to see what adding points down to 12th or 15th would do in the future to make some teams really try to go for it instead of just accepting it's a no points day and coasting home to avoid a costly wreck because of the cap.
Not one could keep their car pointed in the right direction Saturday during qualifying... and then Sunday they were all on damn rails
Max casually smashing Checo's fastest lap (done with DRS on first lap softs) without DRS on used tires is pretty wild.
i heard the ricciardo interview on smartless a while back. arnetts a big fan of f1. maybe interesting to listen to.
