Wish I knew y’all wanted to see it I would have sent the links. There’s a ton of screeners going out this week and next. I could have seen it 4 or 5 times if I wasn't so busy.
I was just pointing it out because I thought she was cute. She’s worked on Birds of Prey, Batgirl, Bumblebee, Shut In, and Unforgettable.
Just finished Flash Consistently good, occasionally very good, sometimes very funny too. Most fun I've had in a DC movie (other than the official Batman movies) since Gunn's Suicide Squad. The movie is apparently tanking at the box office (in terms of projections) which is a terrible shame. The brand and Miller's stuff have hurt it. Had this movie come out without the baggage weighing it down, it'd be a potential billion earner.
I want to see it in the theatre but I still need to see Across the Spiderverse. May try and double dip this weekend.
Sucks for Keaton because that man rules, but fuck Ezra glad it's tanking even if it is good. Don't be a piece of shit, that's the lesson here.
No it's a disaster in terms of ticket sales. Considering how promoted this movie was, the fact that it can't even attract a decent opening weekend is a sign that the general audience is not just disinterested, but is actively turned off by DC movies. "The Batman" might be the outlier, as even Keaton's Batman was made the centerpoint of the marketing here and it didn't matter (or maybe it did and it elevated Flash from an all-timer bomb to just a run-of-the-mill bomb). I thought the movie was good and sometimes very good. it's the kind of movie that would have done very well (like 700m-1B) had the well not been poisoned. Superman Legacy needs to be actively marketed as a reset/new universe, etc. The General Audience needs to be made completely aware that this is a new start. The brand is too tainted right now. You can't just coast on Gunn's name because his Suicide Squad movie (which was great) also flopped (granted Covid restrictions were still rampant, but still). I can't believe DC is forging ahead with Blue Beetle. That movie has a dead brand, zero name recognition, and a bad release date. It might make 50 million dollars total.
It's so fucking funny that the entire reason DC is now having to reboot their entire universe and start from scratch is because they weren't patient, refused to do any actual world building and put the wrong people in charge from the beginning even though everyone knew it was a terrible fucking idea except for them. That Batman v Superman movie was so fucking bad... It's HARD to fuck up a movie that involved Batman and Superman and they made it fucking awful
I think the Batman being it's own thing and very much not looking like a DCEU film helped it a ton. Had it been a Batman film that was part of the DCEU it probably would have flipped. I'm so glad we are done with the Snyder-verse and moving away from his shitty aesthetic that has plagued the dceu.
Batman v Superman is a slightly flawed but workable Batman movie lost in the ocean that is a very flawed and unworkable Superman movie. It was a stupid idea from the beginning, and a monumentally bad business move to have that be their second DCEU movie. Best Batman suit ever put to screen though.
Yeah, I've got absolutely zero interest in that one and I think I've seen literally every superhero movie in the last 25 years at the cinema.
Combining Batman and Superman's most well known storylines into 1 ranks in the top 5 worst film ideas
Just got out. 7/10 for me. Some things they could've done better to put it into a great CBM range Spoiler - Should've made Michael Keaton Thomas Wayne instead of Bruce Wayne just like the comic and animated adaptation. - Loved that they recreated a lot of the major plot points from the comic, such as Barry having to electrocute himself twice to get his powers back. Sucks that they had to cut out a lot of the other major plot points because of time. I was cool with them substituting Zod and his army for the Atlantean/Amazonian war. - I'm guessing the "Chrono Arena" was the directer's way the help the audience visualize time travel and the multiverse? Also, was that 3rd Barry, the DCEU's version of Savitar? - Sometimes the comedy fell flat for me. The roommate scene especially and him losing his front tooth. However, some of it was funny when thinking about the practicality of items (such as Young Barry NOT being able to turn his head correctly while wearing Batman's Cowl) - Loved Sasha Calle as Supergirl, hope she returns in the DCEU reboot. Although her suit needs red boots IMO.
Should've just gone with the "Public Enemies #1" storyline between the two. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superman/Batman:_Public_Enemies
It’s the closest to The Dark Knight Returns graphic novel. I actually liked all the Batman stuff in the previous DCU. Wish they could have made the knightmare after the ending of the Snydercut
My oldest daughter took me to a midnight showing. Had zero expectations because I’m not a flash fan at all and I really enjoyed it. Solid movie I’d give it an 8.
I thought it was pretty good, Ezra Miller was surprisingly good, sucks they fucked their career up completely. Everyone saying negative things about it are comic fanboying it to death, which is the best way to ruin it for yourself.
didn’t think you meant anything malicious I just learned their pronouns last night after the movie from my daughters. They quickly changed the subject before her significant other went on a “boomerish” rant
Thought the movie was solid overall but Miller's acting was laughably bad for the most part. Movie would have probably been a lot better with just about anyone else playing Allen.
