There's a lot of basic QOL stuff missing that have been made baseline from other arpg games, right now Diablo 4 still feels a bit bare bones and clunky AF.
I don't mind it as a starting point. Have had no technical issues on Xbox and it's pretty fun. No real complaints, the power spike from diablo 3 at end game is gone which is nice. It'll look different in a year no doubt. Interested to see what they are going to do for the seasonal changes.
finally completed act III a bit ago... felt like it was ending multiple times and then another round of quests would come my way. got the mount...now onto conquering act iv.
https://www.pcgamesn.com/steam-deck/install-battlenet You just install Battlenet as an app and launch from there. It works really well for me.
I'm not talking about build powers, things like gem pouches, mounts that actually work and don't have a cooldown and aren't stuck on a pebble, better town layout, NM sigils that instant teleport you to the dungeon instead of requiring you to walk 2 minutes for no reason. These are things Lost Ark, PoE etc have solved years ago. Hell even in Diablo 3 the layout in most of the hub towns takes you like 2 secs to go from WP to enchant/blacksmith/gem merc and to the rift pylon.
About to finish act 5 and hopefully the main story line later. Will be down to run the shit after that together. My battletag is tmaxwell24#1981
Pretty much followe this: I couldn’t get the proton to give me the option for what they said, but it’s worked for me so far.
Finished the main story. Liked it a lot. Kinda feel like we shoulda sided with Lilith. Question on aspects. I’ve got two equipped that work together and when I do trample it triggers two huge landslides that seems to wreck shit whenever they hit correctly. One is on a weapon that I need to replace though. If I extract the aspect I can only use it one other time right? When is a good time to put it on something new?
Don't put powers into weapons while you're leveling or powering up through a new world tier, put it in your amulet. Your weapon is the single piece of equipment you'll be ditching and replacing the most for DPS increases, putting an aspect into it is the biggest early game resource wasting blunder. Only maybe upgrade it if you're about to attempt the capstone dungeon and think you need the extra juice.
There was lots of rubber banding and lag from some of the streamers I was watching around 11-12 so maybe it picked up then? This is PC. It may not be as bad if you’re on console?
There was a mass disconnect around 11 est, most of my clan dropped and I saw gladd drop on stream as well then, took a while for everyone to get back on. I'm assuming west coast just started logging on for launch day right after getting off work.
yea, I know to not add the aspect to weapons however this one was a legendary drop and came on the weapon so didn’t really have a choice. I swapped out for a higher dps weapon against the final boss and the lower dps weapon with this aspect was still quite a bit better with all of the landslide damage
Had no idea that "sorcerer enchantments" were a thing starting at level 15 you get one and level 30 you get the second one (I'm level 30) The Ice Shards enhancement and Teleport enhancement are going to work perfect for my build and give me an extra power slot
At 1:30c last night the servers crashed completely. We had a group of 4 get frozen in loading screens. Dashboard and tried to get back in and got a timeout error message either on the initial "queued for login" or "queued for game start" screens for 45 minutes before we called it a night. Also saw two of the world events on the map yesterday (agree with the previous comment that there needs to be a map announcement or something because you won't see it unless you're all the way zoomed out or right by it on the map). They were both on extreme ends of the map I haven't been to yet in mid-Act2: very far left edge and bottom right edge. So we couldn't make it in time since we didn't have horses.
people seem to be using the 2nd slot on firebolt to burn with ice shards even when not using fire bolt at all
The teleport skill itself is a good "get me tf out of this mob" as a sorcerer that my only real threat is being overrun by a mob surrounding me where I can't evade out (also has a damage reduction buff for a few seconds after you use it) but the Teleport Enchantment = my evade button is replaced by teleport, so I would be getting another skill slot altogether, while upgrading my evade to cause damage and get the reduction buff. Most of the YT sorc builds I've seen swear by teleport because the only massive damage AoE attacks you have are the Ults with ~60 second cooldowns. And my main attack is Ice Shards which does great vs. lines of enemies coming at me but not so much when I'm surrounded so teleporting out of a ghoul gangbang and having them line up to run at me just makes my build work
I've seen that and don't really get how that works esp in terms of min/max since the tree has sections where you choose between buffing the hell out of one type of elemental damage and to get the full upgrade on one element it takes 12 skill points. So I'm not sure how having a second basic skill that has zero buffs is beneficial over having another mana/cooldown that has a lot more power/utility. If anything when I get another slot back and use a different element it'd be Hydra for all the passive damage in groups.
Odin curious what that build looks like as far as "mana management" goes. Assuming you're at 50 and have some good legendaries? I've only gotten some boots and an amulet and still at level 30 so maybe those next ~20 points in skills are what does it. I run out of mana a lot in big groups and boss fights where they spawn waves of enemies
well you can only have 6 things equipped anyway and 5 of those are basic attack/defensive skills/ult you put 17 points into total. that leaves 43 for damage which is basically only coming from ice shards.
I'm loving my firewall and hydra build. Firewall enchantment and I'm playing with experimenting with different things in the second slot. My encounters end up being a literal firestorm while I run around collecting gold dropped by the trash.
With no basic attack you can cast ~5 ice shards before you're out of mana. Do you just run around avoiding attacks while it fills back up? Don't know that I've ever played a game where I relied 100% on a magic meter to have any attack option, but if that's the strategy I get it. Also can't count the number of times my guy fires the shards at like a broken barrel on the side of an area instead of an elite enemy or something. Guess I need to use RS lock on feature more
I love throwing up a hydra as soon as an enemy health bar pops up from a group in front of me. Most likely will test out a respec build with both other elements at some point in Act 3 to see which one is the most fun to focus loot in end game. Ice seems to have the best Core for dps and Ult for CC but Fire enchantment and Mastery sound much better. I've heard from multiple people that lightening is boring and gets stale real quick
before an hour ago when i dropped basic attack the general loop was: bunch up/teleport into group, frost nova, ice shards. everything dies. if it doesn't, run away and do what you can until frost nova is off cooldown again. now, after adding some aspects, i'm regening mana on enemy cc and cooldown activation. there's a little bit more downtime than i'd like but that's because it's from dungeon aspects rather than dropped legendaries. even if i replaced that downtime with basic attack spam that's a miniscule amount of damage. it may play a little better switching from inferno to deep freeze, haven't tried that yet. ice shard/frost nova/teleport/ice armor/flame shield/ult
that's what I figured and vs. bosses it's not as bad to spend a little time evading but for some reason the red circle events on the map with waves I've gotten wrecked a few times due to cooldowns and mana scarcity. One way I could see Ice Bolts be relevant instead of filler damage is with their enchantment + shards enchantment you'd be freezing more people and getting auto-shards. I also tend to over think the hell out of min/max games. Division 2 became a problem of spending more time on DPS/build calculators than playing the game
maybe, but when you're fighting large groups the single target basic attacks aren't really doing much. arc lash is still pretty good but there's no easy synergy with lightning and ice stuff.
It's a shorter range teleport and on a longer CD, and it costs you an enchantment that could be a large damage boost. I promise you that you're hurting yourself this way. Just keep regular teleport
I took off Hydras and added a secondary attack, so I felt like I was using it, lol. I liked the hydras, but the guide I was using (linked previously) seemed to switch up the skills around level 25, and didn’t have a secondary skill. Arc Sorc
You're probably right. I rarely use evade/teleport though in the first place. It'd purely be a get out of jail free button. The other enchantments for Ice Sorcs don't really look that great. Shards is a given but the only other one I can see purely going off the descriptions is Frost Bolt, which it sounds like it may be a wasted skill slot in endgame.
I could see 40% perma uptime on blizzard being pretty powerful if you're married to the idea of your enchantments being ice ones.
i don't think there's any wrong answers on world tier 1 tbh and i don't really see the point in playing in tier 2, so play around with stuff until you can get to tier 3
I need to go over my build again. I know I just followed their plan for spending points, and didn’t read their explanation on what and why I was using my points lol
I'm gonna roll with the teleport enchant as long as my legendary boots that give me a 2nd charge are usable in the game. And I have absolutely no idea what the hell lucky vs. crit vs. overpower terms mean. reddit seems to be very confused about lucky hits in particular edit: nvm frost nova one looks great considering how religiously I use hydras
According to one of the maxroll guys, nobody has found a Shako or Grandfather yet so those might be only released when first season drops.
