would be surprising, lotta belief they were off the table as part of an agreement to keep Iranian Ballistics out of the theater
I mean, Trump has never specifically said he's a piece of shit... and yet most (sane, non-MAGA) people can see it. Even if you can't see a steaming pile of dogshit in a room, if it's stuck to the bottom of your shoe, it's still there.
Vladimir Putin was never the Soviet super spy he'd like us to believe. He was merely a KGB 'errand boy,' report says https://news.yahoo.com/vladimir-putin-never-soviet-super-143109404.html
Is there a place for people who want Ukraine to beat the shit out of Putin, largely via western arms and intelligence, but are also absolutely terrified of what Ukraine will look like afterwards?
I mentioned something similar about 400 pages ago when Azov was fighting for Mariupol so yeah. Anyway, you take your chances and it would still be much preferable that Ukraine wins this war (and it's far from certain that they will. Probably 50/50)
With Ukraine operating as it’s own country prior to RU invading; is there a large scale concern with Ukraine drastically changing course following this conflict? I assumed if liberated it would return to most its traditional behavior prior to being invaded. I may be completely naive which is why I ask. I assume with their goal of joining NATO still being a primary driver; they would want to operate with that concern in mind.
When has a major war not dramatically changed a nation? Hell, look how relatively minor, distant wars (for the US, not for Vietnam, Iraq or Afghanistan) fucked up the US. Let's assume Ukraine wins (as I said, far from certain) -- they're going to come out of this war with huge scars - both physical and emotional. A battered, barely functional economy, cities destroyed, huge swaths of the country polluted and strewn with unexploded ordinance, an entire country with PTSD, and a gnawing paranoia that Russia could do it again. Oh, and a powerful military awash in weapons, a still quite corrupt political system, and a radicalized populace - particularly the men who are fighting this war. There's going to be massive antipathy towards those who are currently avoiding service, a desire for revenge towards those Ukrainians who are pro-Russian... any spike in unemployment after the war and look out. As for NATO, I'm interested in knowing if Turkey and Hungary would let them in. I think they probably would not.
The electric grid is barely holding together. If they’re able to shut the plant down to avoid running out of water I’m not sure they’ll be able to keep the lights on. I would think they have planned for this as a possibility though.
bloggers saying the Russians blew the dam to send all of their forces holding the kherson front to other areas to help with the counter offensive. But that the flooding will only last a week and then Ukraine forces would have access to be able to cross the river again.
Just laid out the downstream flooding and how areas like Crimea and Kakhovk Oblast? will likely be without water for quite awhile.
I remember when posters in this thread talked about Ukraine giving up their land stolen by the Russians in the name of peace.
Yeah, but did you ever stop to consider that it was a Nazi dam? Of course not, because you only love Ukrainian propaganda! /Artoo
Russians think that ends the offensive in the whole region. a week or so ago there was an intelligence report that Russia was going to sabotage a nuclear plant in the region and try to make it look like Ukraine. I would imagine this is it
i remember when his dumbass made the argument that Ukraine was hurting its citizens when they would blow a bridge because then people couldn’t escape. Must’ve been the Nazi guys doing it.
The Ukrainians are using bombs and bullets but the Russians are just trying to slow them with water guys, who’s really evil here
Very simple. Like everything else, Russia will say Ukraine did it to themselves. Obviously it's possible at points in the past or future Ukraine has sabotaged things for tactical reasons. But the Kremlin has zero credibility when they have invaded the country, made war on the citizens, and caused this conflict to begin with. My point being, it almost doesn't matter who is responsible, or if it was an accident or intentional, or if it was a highly coincidentally-time failure due to prior damage or stresses. Bottom line is Russia caused this disaster and it's just another on a long list.
Luckily the zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant has its own cooling reservoir that’s separate from the river. So if the Russians breach that then there will be problems.
Hmm. Ok. Still seems like a reasonable take on blowing up the only bridge to the area. Seems like it's something that would have hurt the populous more than the invaders. Same as blowing up this dam. Seems like it causes much more harm and suffering than any real military objective
So use your WMDs, puppet. Oh, you don't have any? Better hit the road to al those "allies" and start begging some more
