All amusement parks do something like it. Been to Six Flags on lightly attended days and they’ll deliberately not put as many coaster trains in use to slow down the wait times so guests don’t get done with the park in half a day. And in hopes you’ll purchase their Flash Pass.
fuck you Dade county for getting us stuck with this asshat for 4 more years hopefully he leaves to try and run for president already
I'm going to wait and see it from a few more places before I believe they are shutting down the hotel and experience completely after investing so much time and money into it. But if that's true, that was a HUGE fuck up. In fairness, their pricing and offering was way wrong from the beginning, which likely set it up for disaster.
he's not droping insider news, he's regurgitating talking points from the press conference. It's official.
maybe but people have stopped booking it, so those wages go to waste, they take the building's mortgage and write it off for taxes or something because corporate america
my guess is that it gets retro-fitted as a star wars deluxe hotel with a pool and spa. We have been putting it off due to covid and starting a family, but I am making sure I finally get to do it before it closes.
They may be better off doing a star wrs themed hotel most of the year and maybe quarterly doing a 3 day immersive weekend. Probably would match demands better that way
I can't believe they never lowered the price. I don't understand why they didn't try and change up the experience either. Staying locked on to the Sequel era seemed limited. They had I think 3 cast members to play each character and they rotated throughout the week. Always wondered if they couldn't change it up a bit and make it set in another era. They ship itself and staff were all very era neutral. Just gotta change out Rey and The First Order for The Empire and Luke/Leia whoever. I'm sad, but I know that the revisit-ability was just very low. Once you went through the experience, there wasn't much left to go back and re-experiance
Looking at costs for 5 people in May 2024. It's going to be at least $2800 cheaper for me to stay in a nicer 3br/3ba condo for 9 nights vs staying in an on-site property. The condo is right outside the gate and kind of behind All Star Sports. What's the downside of doing this? We never use extra hours. I know I'll have to pay for parking and Magic Kingdom is parking at the transportation center. What else should I think about when staying off property? Just seems worth it from the cost differential.
Do you plan on taking advantage of the pools, activities at the hotel? If not (though imo you should), then save the money
Traffic around Orlando off property is terrible was my big take away when we stayed at an Airbnb. But certainly not bad enough to think twice about cost savings
Stayin at FW this weekend and going to Typhoon Lagoon . Have the snow white character dinner at FW Lodge, excited to check out the lodge.
I’m not sure I’ll have a better experience in my life than the last time I went to Disney, some family friend had moved up high enough at Disney to have the hook up and we didn’t wait in a line for like 4 days At least that’s how I remember it
It’s such a fun hotel and the theming is top notch. Whispering canyon is such an underrated dining experience.
For that amount save your money. I've stayed on and off in the past year and the biggest perk for us was the early access. It's nice being in a empty(ish) park early in the morning and having minimal waits for RotR or Avatar, but if that doesn't matter to you then I can't really remember any extra perk to staying on property besides the ambiance of the Disney properties, which you can go to anyways. Even when we stayed on property it was easier to drive to the parks (except MK) and $25 a day isn't too bad especially if you park hop.
Just got to Port Orleans French Quarter. Gonna see if our makeup cruise on the Wish later this week goes off without anyone getting sick.
4 days to Fantasy sailing. Got enough things booked. Like the parks though there is just too much you feel like you need to do on the app beforehand. Just added stress and pressure even if it’s “convenient”. anyway can’t wait.
Stayed here for a few nights when my power was out in one of the hurricanes a few years back. They let us bring the dogs (some sort of disaster law) and it was awesome.
I don’t know anything about either of these things but why would a dinner with Snow White be less kid friendly? That seems crazy
6 year old just asked me how Mickey is on the ship but also at Disney world. I told him when he doesn’t see Mickey on the ship that means he’s just at Disney world. He found that sufficient.
There’s a secret sub that transports him between places. Artiste pointe is a signature restaurant. White tablecloth, quiet setting, fancy food options, etc. Sanaa is a much more casual environment and still has excellent food.
