I do think his percentage will go up actually. I think hes got a workable form and understand that area of his game has to improve to play at the next level.
I'm concerned about Arkansas, but I don't think this is happening here at all. It's not an our players aren't as good, it's a, we had a starter leave that we weren't expecting to and now we have a ton of playing time on a team that is very skilled everywhere except your position, and you can complete us into a high level team while playing major minutes immediately. That's a very different pitch than, our players aren't as good as the other place.
This guy is the most "how much does NIL matter vs traditional fit/system " as any we've been a part of. Alabama is the perfect fit in terms of scheme, roster, fitting his needs, etc as anyone in America. We're a good roster which one specific hole that he is almost built in a lab to fill. We've got a resume that shows we know what bigs like him can do and that we can showcase them for the NBA. Arkansas just isn't any of those things and won't run stuff that the NBA wants to see him run and succeed in. It isn't even a slight against them because other types of players would fit better in their style than ours. But this one is built for ours. If we lose him, he's decided NIL is more important and we will have been offered something woefully below what they did. It will be a terrible precedent moving forward (and a massive hit to our team for next year). I just keep thinking that the obvious things win out and he sees that his path to making money and a career out of the next level is better served with us and that it outweighs a one year contract from them. But I'm pretty nervous that isn't how it's gonna go.
I was told by someone in the admin side of the athletic dept that the university admin don’t want Jackson because he is named /involved in the lawsuit by the former player. The feeling is that baseball needs a completely clean start with no one from the Bohannon staff.
it’s always such a nice ass weight room. i will never forget my first work out with the team - scott cochran yelled at me a bunch and I blacked out in the middle of a set of crunches
the old me would make a comment about the obvious lack of commitment the new me, however, won't mention it
seriously though, it is absolutely amazing the money we have spent on the weight room. It was absolutely sick 15 years ago and it looks like we just have shinier versions of the same equipment. And this is like the third time we have done this Even if untouched in the last 15 years it would still be incredible if it was still in version 1
We better start seeing results on the field again, or our fans are gonna start calling for yah yah to come back.
Scott talks recruitment “I’m looking to see if we can get officials lined up with Southern California, Ole Miss, and Alabama,” Scott said. Southern California: “I want to see everything they have to offer. They can tell me all about it and show me the pictures, but I want to get out there and see it all for myself. They have a great class coming in this year, and this is something I’m looking at. I was shocked when I saw all that firepower coming in. I want to get out there, be around the coaches, talk with the players, and see why they went and how it’s going.” Alabama: “Talking with the coaches at my in-home visit, we got to talk about how their offense flows and how they have one of the most pro-like offenses in college basketball. I want to get down there to see what it’s like down there. I’ll want to see the facilities they have and how they can plug me in and help me to continue getting better. I feel like I fit in well with how they play. They play a lot of free ball, allowing their players to go out and have fun.” Ole Miss: “They got a bunch of new staff over there. I’m pretty familiar with a lot of the people they brought in. A visit down there will be kind of like seeing how everything flows down there. It’ll be a lot like getting to know these people together in a different location. I want to see what that is like, as well.” Scott has taken three official visits prior to Oregon. He’s been to South Carolina, Auburn, and Texas. “They’re all absolutely still in the mix,” Scott said. “I’m expanding my list at this point, going to see some more options, see what it is. I’ve been talking with all of them about taking another visit, But honestly, with my time and schedule, we would have to make them happen very quickly or cut some of them off.”
