I mean, Berkeley is pretty great, but I don’t know that a November or December trip here, and a very likely W makes up that $27M.
For context, what is “best part of Dallas” ‘s closest comp? I assume it’s quite nice but still no higher than 4th place of cities I’d want to visit in TX (San Antonio, Austin, El Paso)
I would agree, but doesn’t sound like the networks can make it make financial sense. There were so rumblings espn might value more west coast teams for late night content, but that seems to have died off
I don’t think they saw value in late night games if the two teams participating were remaining PAC12 minus LA schools, but maybe they think Clemson and FSU will draw enough eyeballs when out there (maybe one game per year between the 2 CA schools and Clemson and FSU?) With the Noles openly trying to get out, I imagine they’ll have a west coast trip on their sched as soon as the Bay Area teams are added.
El Paso is great. A crazy low crime rate too despite being right on the border that’s the most dangerous place on the planet according to wheels mcgovernor
I don’t hate this. Imagine it would be a lot of fun in theaters with a full menu and bar. If you can’t go to the game, watching with a hundred other fans on the big screen and surround sound is a nice alternative. Local theaters also need the help. Streaming is killing their business. We’ve had two local theaters shutdown in the last 5 years.
Now imagine sneaking in a box of chocolate covered raisins and getting a handy in the dark at halftime
Reserved, comfy seating? Server bringing drinks and food? Huge screen with premium sound? Im thinking it’s advantage movie theater here.
EMAW FC and me had this idea except it was just converting an older theater into a bar and having games on all day with multiview and switching channels as it makes sense
There was a place here in town that tried this. Executed poorly. Need to use the sports book model of renting tables for time slots plus food and bev mins
