Hartman was the lowest graded PFF player on the team yesterday Faison was the highest graded WR Imagine hearing that on September 22nd
Part of me feels like it's mental. Like after OSU we only had dim playoff hopes and he was NIL'ing damn hard while kind of already having confirmed he was never going to be more than like a 3rd / 4th rounder. I know he says all the right things about the ND tradition and stuff, but its just felt like a completely different player since that game. He had the 4th and long conversion against Duke, but could you really grade him as better than a C in any game since OSU? Maybe a B against USC because he didn't have to do much? Maybe a B- or C+ against Pitt cuz he was ok after the two INT's? I'd give C+ to Duke, C- to Louisville, and D to Clemson. Kind of baffling
Hadn't thought of that, but makes a ton of sense He has his degree and we underdeveloped him. If it wasn't going to work with Hartman and a weak WR room, when would it work?
I don't think I agree with this. He can't be coached to be more shifty or have more wiggle, and his drops are a him problem. I think they've done a reasonably good job converting him to the slot, but his short comings are his short comings.
If he decides to move on, good for him. I hope he finds success at his new school. Despite his shortcomings as a player, he did everything asked of him for the better of the team. I still hope he comes back
He's one of the most efficient receivers in the country and we have him running routes well under national average. Maybe underdeveloped is the wrong term, but we're not using him right
He’d have to go to a mid tier P5 right? I can’t imagine him getting any more usage elsewhere with one year experience and still learning the position.
If Tyree wants another year to develop at slot, it's not so much the level he's looking for but fit and usage. There are schools out there with decent offenses that run more spread and use more WRs that would love to add his speed. And more and creative usage probably helps his development. I'm not saying it's a sure thing he ever gets a shot, but he has to know he won't have the chance to show much or learn much in this offense.
Maybe he is thinking about just going somewhere else to get a master's degree and move on. Go to UVa and you have undergrad at ND, master's from there, maybe a shot at NFL but if not move on with life. Most of the ACC schools would be a similar situation. Sometimes what these guys are looking for is not 100% about maximizing their football career.
The guy caught as many balls thrown by a robot this summer as Tommy Rees watched football plays over a glass of bourbon. He wants in the league.
I’d be happy with it too, my point is he’s a proven kid who has worked hard at ND, he’ll have a lot of money available here if he wants it.
but, why? I get that we always hope the next guy is better but this is a situation where Tyree has been our best WR and our oldest, if he wants his spot I think it's his unless one of those guys has a meteoric rise. I could see him wanting a different scheme or more targets or something but I just have a hard time seeing him leave because of PT, feels like fan brain.
They’ve come back and are doing decent This team is fun to watch. Markus Burton is gonna score a lot of buckets at ND
Markus Burton with 29 pts in his debut. Reminds me of Chris Thomas in his first game. This team is at least going to be fun to watch. Booth coming off the bench and getting 10 pts and 9 boards was huge.
