In retrospect it was all kind of worth it to not get bent over a barrel for a mediocre option in late February. Kline would have been worth it to do whatever it took to get but it doesn't seem like money was an obstacle there. I think a year of Parker and then Denbrock is better result than Moorehead.
All it took was a new school president and athletic director but we might be a serious football program again
Imagine being a wide receiver and leaving nd for ucla or cal. now imagine how you would feel about your decision making today.
I know there’s a new President and AD but I really wonder if this push happens if Kelly was still here? It was time to go and ND needed a new face
kelly probably doesn’t push for this, what is happening here is not just the administration deciding to do it, freeman must’ve had some conversations with them. Kelly would be fine just using excuses and staying a 10 wins program without any shot at winning it all. The admin must see freeman working his tail off and realizes that they better not mess this up because this is a crucial time.
Irish Breakdown guys and Driskell had zero info on Denbrock & Parker this whole time Their “sources” are players and players parents
Yes, I agree. I think it is clear Freeman is doing a different type of program push than Kelly did, and it is helping him garner better Admin support. It probably doesn't hurt that he's a lot easier to work with and his ego still fits through doorways. Besides, now is not the time to stand idle in college football - the complacent are going to soon be left behind. You have a young, popular coach who reflects well on the University and wants to do everything he can to win a championship. The new admit too wants to leave their mark I am sure. Make big moves or watch others do it in your place.
I spent an unhealthy amount of time watching LSU reactions on YouTube today and the rationalization for this and it may as well have been porn
it’s just the same thing over and over Denbrock is old, it’s Kelly’s Offense, the qb coach is the real star, his qb made Denbrock repeat repeat all that is fine but it ignores everything Denbrock did prior to LSU at Cincy which was pretty impressive
especially after I make it more realistic, for example Tommy Rees used to be a 6’5 qb with 99 accuracy, 99 arm strenght and 98 speed(I wanted to keep it serious)
And marshal. And lousiville. After Louisville I cancelled all my board subscriptions. I’d add osu but had a hell of a time with my dad
Marshall and Louisville were predictable Clemson& USC was whatever OSU both times were great games even if soul crushing Stanford well that was a mother fucker that shouldn’t have happened
I suggest we take the thread the thread leadership away from Thoros of Beer. He’s a war time leader, we’re in peace now.
