Gonna check these out tonight for my Saturday Night non serious viewing pleasure. and this masterpiece
A lot of the wick franchise is inspired by Wu. In 4 the radio is WUXIA which is another Chinese film genre.
Just finished Oppenheimer. Absolutely loved the final act. Still think KotFM was better, but damn both of them were great.
Rare for a movie to so completely lose me in the last 10 minutes like All Of Us Strangers did. Really enjoyed it up to that point and then suddenly heal turns into "ok fuck this movie". Spoiler Like 90 solid minutes of overcoming grief and realizing you're parents were also just flawed humans and opening up to love and then SUDDENLY "the whole thing was a dream and also your love interest OD'd and you find his decomposing corpse but also you just imagined your whole relationship anyway fuck you"
Man I hated Killers of the Flower Moon. One of the most boring movies I’ve watched and dear god does it drag. The Holdovers on the other hand, was a true delight
Iron Claw absolutely broke me. Cried like a baby at the end when we see the brothers reunite with Jack, the youngest. What a great film.
I just can't take.any of the promos for this seriously. It all feels very video in the middle of a video game to me.
Seems like it's going aggressively "This Is Not About Republicans" specifically. Like deliberately removed from modern politics.
Randomly threw on LOTR Fellowship of the Ring last night and excuse my ignorance on this but in the beginning Gandalf returns from Gondor and tells Frodo what the ring really was. When Frodo asks if anyone else knows where the ring is, Gandalf explains that he tried to find Gollum but the agents of Mordor found him first. Question, Obviously Gandalf knows to look for Gollum because Bilbo told him about the whole event, How did Mordor know to look for Gollum?
Gollum ended up outside of Mordor unintentionally, due to the power of Sauron to attract all evil things. Remember that he had travelled all the way to Dale, searching for Bilbo, and hears the people of Dale talking about the great deeds of Thorin and Co., and especially one hobbit named Baggins. He learns that Bilbo came from a land far to the west of the Misty Mountains where Gollum had make his home for so long. But he sets out to get to the Shire despite the great distance. On the way he gets sidetracked away south, even though the Ring is his one and only goal. When Frodo questions him later, Gollum swears it was a mistake. But Gollum is captured by the Orcs of Mordor. These Orcs had never seen and probably never had heard of a hobbit before. And Gollum was one twisted critter. I'm sure the Orcs had orders to capture anything if they could, so Sauron could interrogate them, possibly turn them into slaves. Now, how did Sauron know Gollum had the Ring at one point? First, he kept referring to himself as Precious. Sauron's original, Maiar name was Mairon, translated as Admirable, Excellent, or Precious. A great part of Sauron went into the creation of the One Ring, so it's possible that Sauron himself called the One Ring his Precious. He might also have learned that Isildur referred to the One as being precious to him. And as Gandalf explained, Gollum and Bilbo both had long lives, and that power only the great rings exhibit. It was not one of the Three that Gollum had, because those had never been lost. The Nine and the Seven were accounted for. So Gollum was changed by a Ring of Power that had been lost, and that could only be the One. Also, the One had no jewel on it. Gollum would certainly have told that his ring had no jewel. This is unlike any of the other Rings of Power, as they all had gems. Finally I think it makes sense that Sauron could feel the effects of the Ring on Gollum. After all, he'd turned Men into Nazgul with his other rings.
No problem I c/p that from Reddit, but I did read through a few until I found the one that I thought was best.
I just want Giamatti to win at least one award this season damnit I do realize Cillian is very much deserving so don’t take this as a jab at him
