Same. Had the black screen for like thirty minutes then stuck on defrosting for over an hour before I gave up.
I believe I read they are supposed to be rolling out a patch today to help with matchmaking and logins.
was able to easily get in twice so far this morning. Probably just a slow time compared to the rest of the day, but no black screen this morning. I looked at some of my stats and I never know how much to trust the time spent metrics, but Steam says I've played 23 hours and the game tells me I've been in mission for 8 of those hours.
Once you get leveled up enough for them - the electric field stratagems are life savers on higher difficulties. We were wiping hard (and a couple hard +1s whatever that difficulty is called) by using those when there's bug breaches or drop ships. Takes good coms to know who has one and make sure you're not wasting them by throwing 2 at one breach, but they just freeze enemies up for way longer than we expected. Think it's called the EMS Mortar Sentry. EMS orbital strike you get a lot earlier may also do the trick but I can't vouch for that. Once you're at higher levels your gun turrets get wiped way too easily unless you throw them onto a spot with some high ground. EMS Sentry throws a freeze ball at them and lets turrets eat. Also incredibly easy to wipe multiple chargers if they're frozen and you've got 2 people with rail guns. Also very easy to throw an eagle strike at a frozen group since the inbound time on the airstrike is like 3s. Don't sleep on crowd control orbitals at higher levels of difficulty.
Got in and was able to group up with some guys. We got all the way to the end and the drop ship came down but we couldn’t get in. Bugged. So many samples and lives lost to the bugs.
So nice to have matchmaking back for when I want to just jump in and run hard without having to coordinate or anything.
I had an issue that said it couldn’t connect, or something like that. Was still in my ship and could open things; just couldn’t join any games. Had to exit and re-queue.
