If you aren't local and will be getting a hotel room then get in one of the premier hotels that comes with the fast pass. Will save a couple hundred at least.
The week we went was one of the slowest of the year according to some research I did, and the standard one time ride Universal Express (not even unlimited) for us five was going to be damn near an additional 700 bucks…so we didn’t get them. The park closed super early the day we were there (5:00) and we still got in most of what we wanted to do. Longest wait was about an hour at Hagrid’s Motorbike. That said, sounds like you’re going during Spring Break so I’d probably suggest the standard Universal Express pass for one ride at the least. You said you were thinking about getting Express Unlimited though…right? If that’s the case you won’t have to wait in line at all no matter how many times you ride, so you wouldnt be wasting your time on your 2nd or 3rd time riding. Standard Universal Express will probably save you some money though.
Well not Spring break for my kids at least, first week of March, I imagine some schools around the country will be on it? Local doing a day trip
Beach Club and Boardwalk have different kinds of fun. Both more than deserving of a try. The best thing about the deluxe resorts is that they all have their advantages. It's just a matter of what you want/need for that trip. Want to spend a bunch of time at the hotel and enjoy the pool? Beach Club. Want to be on the monorail line and have family friendly food options? Poly Want nightlift that you don't have to leave the hotel for? Boardwalk.
Was going to try to snag a few nights at AKL, but looking at confirmed reservations, I guess someone is spamming 1 night rentals. No availability for 3 nights.
You are a few minutes from the convention center so there is going to be a ton of options. How far are you willing to go/what are you looking for?
Decided to add a night try a split stay, so now staying CB first part of trip and AKL the second half. Figured we could hit up the skyliner parks while at CB and the bus parks from AKL. The kids are super into animals so it felt like a good pick the age they are. I've only stayed at value in my past trips so looking forward to a moderate and deluxe.
You won't regret animal kingdom. The food options are really good if you are adventurous, the pool area is great, and the room side zoo is really a great vibe. That was my first deluxe Disney resort and it's just world's different than places like Pop century
We are DVC members and stayed at most of the deluxe resorts on property. AKL is our favorite. The vibes are immaculate.
snowfx2 you ever take part? My wife is big to as many experiences as we can throughout our visits so we are doing it just curious how the food is.
Have not done that yet. Carthay Circle at DCA is still probably the most elite restaurant within the two Anaheim parks. Not counting Napa Rose in the Grand Californian (it's right by the direct entrance from the Grand Californian into DCA by the pool bar/restaurant).
Holy hell this weekend the park was full. Thursday was as busy as any summer day I’ve spent in the park
Looks like I’m starting to plan my next trip, May of 2025. Wanting to do universal as well this go around.
They haven't announced the opening date yet, but that'll be right around the time Epic Universe opens
I was told by the travel agent it’ll open in May and I’m planning for the last week of May so it should be open. Looking at doing 3 days Disney and 2 at universal.
you think a random travel agent knows more than all the psychos and insiders with blogs following this shit?
I will know before that travel agent and I can assure you that date is not out there yet you could put good money on may, but no has that date yet
I’m not one of those psychos or insiders and have no idea what information is out there. Hell, I can’t even tell you what the new park will consist of. She did tell me it would be best to wait until the date is official if I’m wanting to go that route. regardless, I’ll be needing help again here soon. Was looking at Coronado and Caribbean as the places to stay at. It’ll be 5 this time going, me and my daughter and my girlfriend and her two sons. Any and all suggestions are welcomed.
Coronado may be my favorite moderate resort. I haven’t even stayed in the tower but I love the whole property. Awesome pool.
Just got back. Was a great trip. Kids are 8 and 5. The lighting lane add on was worth it in my opinion. Also need to do virtual queue stuff right before 7am on the app. Did bippity bop boquitque or whatever it's called for my daughter and then eat in the castle during the fireworks. Eating in the castle was a cool experience but not sure it's worth the money. This past Friday was slammed in the park. Def a noticeable uptick in people compared to the rest of our week.
Once Epic Universe opens, it's going to be pretty tough to knock out universal in 2 days unless you have a fast pass imo.
One of those things I never thought I’d do and now I have a daughter and my wife has already brought up doing this in the future.
We did it twice and my daughter wasn’t nearly as excited the second time but she was over the moon the first time. Have a 2 year old daughter so we’ll probably eventually do it again in the future, but it’s a definite try to do but only once thing for us.
Man, having a boy is like a cheat code. What do you want to do? “Ride the cool rides, build a lightsaber, and meet Captain America.” Sweet, me too.
Well, she’s an adrenaline junkie now. We just went last month and she did Tron twice, Guardians, Space Mtn, Everest, and Tower of Terror at 6 years old and 48 inches in big shoes to just reach the height limit. And she really wanted to ride Hulk at Universal but she’ll need another half a foot before that. We actually didn’t do any Princess stuff this time. We built some droids at Galaxy’s End.
My son is sitting right at 47.25 inches. He’s not upset about it though. He mainly wants to get to 48 for water slides.
