I love Dune. I like Hamilton. This, though… this is not for me. https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/s/3y4b5Xy2Ru
Just seem to be the Hollywood prop watch brand of choice. This one is a dud, but they've hit just about all the others out of the park commercially... Murph & Indy specifically
Anyone have a Pelagos, specifically the 39? I’m getting curious, just saw it comes with the black rubber strap also.
My buddy got one early... It’s nice, but don’t you already have the BB58? It’s pretty much the same watch & the titanium bracelet scratches to hell, as expected.
My play would be to sell my blue BB58 and Seiko SPB143. Fewer, nicer watches. More spend, versatile diver. But yeah, the scratches worry me. I have a Santos for collecting scratches already.
It’s nice & it’s a tool watch… I’d probably wear a Pelagos on rubber regardless. The play makes sense for the spend, despite it REALLY being identical to your Seiko. My wife would fucking murk me for doing what you’re suggesting
Yeah, I'm only into mine for $650 and know I could sell it for at least that much. I love how it wears, perfectly happy with keeping it, but know it would overlap with the Pelagos 39mm. I never pick the blue BB58 over it, so I know parting with the Tudor is an easy decision.
600 is my next purchase, maybe a big sharkhunter. Huge Dirk Pitt fan here. Jacque Couesto also wore it.
This is amazing. My 2nd favorite Omega after the Speedy Pro. Vintage or recent, reflections are throwing me off. This is the watch I had in mind for a diver under $10k asked about earlier, love this so much, great watch.
I just set to atomic time and check every day or so how fast/slow it is compared back to atomic time.
Toolwatch app for me. Also has an atomic clock (and the ability to share results if that’s your bag).
It’s a 2022 but it doesn’t look like it’s been worn more than a handful of times. Going from the Sinn 104 which has crazy AR to this is a bit jarring as there are some decent reflections (pretty heavily domed and only internal AR coating) but you get used to it.
what are the threads thoughts on the fabled white dial speedy coming this year seems like it'll be this years hype piece among the luxury tier
Supposed to release tomorrow, I believe. There’s been several other white dials, but always Special Editions or precious metal. I doubt there will be much difficulty getting one, after the initial 6-8 months… then they’ll be everywhere. It’s nice, but doesn’t really move the needle for me. I prefer the OG
As much as I like a lot of the reversos it's hard to justify them vs similar dress watches by cartier etc
I purchased my Reverso Duo Face before the hikes, so I'm sitting pretty... I also buy what I will wear & have never worried about resale. They aren't investments What models specifically? Polaris is within $250 of a Submariner Date & if you wear it, people won't assume you used your 1st bonus check on it Reverso mono face vs. Tank? Tanks cheaper, but quartz, unless you make a huge jump in price, or can wear the gargantuan XL Reverso Duo Face... compared to the Omega Moon watch, that's gone up about 150% in the last few years, the increases are meager
JLC Reverso is 100x better than Cartier, no matter how popular. It’s bot a replacement either, as I sometimes try to talk myself into.
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=936609 this is obviously outrageously priced and not accessible to me or most everyone else on this board but what a beautiful watch
None really. I’m on lists for a vacheron, 2 APs, and a Patek, but they’re all annoying/impossible to get. I wasn’t really planning to buy this one, but I do like it and did it to start a new AD relationship. Only other Rolexes I’m trying to buy are the black and white steel Daytonas and maybe a day/date. So my Rolex buying is nearly done.
6.5 Submariner, speedmaster, Pepsi, steel/gold datejust, rose gold oysterflex Daytona, this new gmt, and a royal oak that I split with my dad.
