The passage of time is one thing, the extraordinary number of consecutive losses is another. This documentary went in to excruciating detail about the streak. It’s quite long but you can hop around it and get the gist.
I was cheesed in the offseason with the FO's lack of any effort twatsoever to replace Sonny in the rotation, but I had been getting typical excitement going into Opening Day. Most of that was due to Lewis. Buck and Correa feeling healthy, too. Anyway good to see Pablo still dealing and Correa having a dynamic game. But dang it Royce Lewis deserves a healthy season as to Twins fans. Have a feeling he was poised to explode in terms of league stardom too. Hopefully it's just a couple weeks or something but it smells like something that will nag him.
Think I’m gonna go watch the Rangers series on Memorial weekend since I live in Chicago now and it’s cheap as fuck to fly there Any recommendations on an area to stay? Never been and I’m going solo TIA
North Loop or downtown area generally. It depends on your price point. Closer to Target Field than US Bank stadium as the better areas to go out are First Ave by the stadium (warehouse district), North Loop (adjacent to warehouse but runs along Wash Ave north of Hennepin) or Nicollet (although that is more commercial district). Just make sure you don’t get past 10th Ave N on Washington as it goes downhill quickly. There is a Minneapolis thread: https://www.the-mainboard.com/index...self-in-the-waters-of-lake-minnetonka.182194/
Appreciate it. I searched it but the function is broken half the time so I remembered you guys had a thread. I’ll check it out too
Its all good. It’s an appropriate question even with a thread. Your question is specific to an area/event. The Twins play as central as you can get so I figured I’d highlight the thread for recs to bars, restaurants, etc in your next stage of planning things to do.
I haven't watched Twins on TV since 2022 (since Bally left YTTV), but a lot of fans are pissed off today. Being a sports fan kinda sucks sometimes. Like this nine-game streak is awesome but the slashing of payroll and the really dumb choice to re-up with Diamond Sports are both money grabs that concretely adversely affect the product and fan experience. But we keep coming back because we instinctually want to have a team to like. Same with college sports and all the shit that goes on behind the scenes. U of Neb has made some really bad decisions and makes it hard to support. But, ya know. The Corn.
