That makes sense: So, it’s kind of a long story/allegation with lots of layered issues. Here’s the short version: Tupac and Biggie we’re actually friends prior to the East Coast/West Coast beef. As you may/may not know, Tupac was shot prior to his death in 1996. In 1994, he was headed inside a studio in New York where Biggie was and he didn’t even make it up before he was shot at multiple times. He obviously survived, but this event is what became the catalyst to the Bad Boy vs Death Row issue. Tupac vehemently believed that Biggie either set him up, or had prior knowledge that Tupac was going to be set up, and ultimately blamed Biggie for not warning him. From that point on Tupac wanted nothing to do with Biggie/Puffy/Bad Boy. At the same time, Tupac was also battling a sexual abuse/rape charge that ultimately resulted in his incarceration. Tupac goes to prison. But Suge helps to bail him out, and immediately signs him to Death Row. Suge and Puffy also had unresolved drama due to Suge believing Puffy had his best friend/security guard killed in Atlanta. So, Tupac is out of jail and freshly signed to Death Row. He comes out swinging with hits, he’s as popular as ever, and he’s got Suge Knight on his side. They’re both coming hard as hell at Puffy/Bad Boy/Biggie… dissing them at award shows, putting out arguably the greatest and most offensive diss track of all time, “Hit ‘Em Up” (please listen). Culturally, it’s an extremely tense time. Allegedly, Puffy puts out a reward to anyone who can snatch a Death Row chain… so he can use it in a Bad Boy video. Someone (a Southside Compton Crip) actually does this and takes a chain of a Death Row affiliate/Blood Gang member in LA. Puffy also allegedly puts a hit on both Suge and Tupac’s life for $1 million dollars. Fast forward to Sept. 7, 1996– it’s fight night in Vegas Mike Tyson v. Bruce Seldon. Death Row is in town for the fight. As they leave the fight, Someone from the Death Row (Bloods) crew sees the person(Southside Compton Crip) that snatched their Death Row Chain. They tell Tupac and he runs over to jump on the guy. They stomp him out in the casino. The guy recovers with non severe injuries, and tells his Southside crip friends. These friends were also the friends allegedly recruited by Puffy who had placed a $1M bounty on Pac & Suge’s heads. Well as we all know now, Tupac was murdered by Southside crips who not only were in acting in retaliation, but had the perfect reason to collect the bounty. 2 birds - 1 stone.
Ya’ll posting some crazy conspiracy nonsense After 5 minutes of research, seems like 50’s beef with Diddy is bc he’s a fucking weirdo and thought he was gay. Diddy asked 50, can I take you shopping and that was the start
All these complicit characters need to be locked up too. so many people saw him beat cassie, rape underage and of age women/men, drug them, screw ppl out of money, kill em for getting to close to being competition or taking away some of the shine (rip Pac and biggie), etc etc etc. He’s lucky he has protection from the mob. See, he grew up in the Hamptons. His dad was an associate of a mob boss and mistakenly got whacked. The family took care of ouffs mom and sister for life.
Right, but the picture you asked about was a shop of 50 with Pac. That's directly related tk Keefe and the detective saying Puffy had a hit out on Pac. This is the guy that's charged with killing Pac, listen to the first minute.
Puff grew up in the Hamptons, but it's worth noting that he had serious clout and respect from New Yorks underbelly of urban organized crime. He inherited this clout, expanded and leveraged it as needed but he didnt get his hands dirty. Why you may ask? His father Melvin Earl Combs was a highly respected associate of both Frank Lucas and his rival Nicky Barnes. He was slain at 33 when Puff was only 3. Combs was mistaken for an informant and as a result Janice Combs (Diddys mother) had all her needs taken care of, including anything Diddy and his sister Keisha Combs needed. Lucas actually wanted Diddy and Keisha Combs off the streets and into college and a clean life, but they were protected due to their fathers legacy
I’ve never seen it but I’m planning to after my Curb rewatch also my post had more to do with the name of the song and not the artist
No offense but you clearly haven't followed this. Keefe has been talking for damn near a decade. He wrote a freaking book detailing the shooting. He thought he was in the clear bc kr the proffer agreement with the LA police but didn't realize it only covered him that day so all the self snitching he did publicly ended up getting him charged.
You can choose to believe the part about Puffy or not but saying nobody talks when that's all he's done for a decade is hilarious. He told enough truth that he's facing a murder charge so I tend to believe he was telling the truth about the Puffy part too.
you should 100% watch a couple seasons of Atlanta before watching 10+ seasons of Curb on a rewatch. Easy choice
as dumb as this is going to sound but I can’t stop watching something once I start. Sometimes I think I use my OCD as a “ convenient” excuse so I don’t want to blame it here but I’d start it stop a couple minutes in and go back to Curb. I’m on season five so it won’t be that much longer
