but why send Edge out to do the “Stand up for AEW” speech and tell everybody to leave the negativity behind and watch all wrestling if you’re gonna air that footage? Seems like mixed messaging from the company
AEW is fine despite the ratings. The product is better than where it was 6 months ago. I did just try to look for the next time AEW will be in South Florida and was surprised that aside from a July show their website doesn’t list locations after May.
I just got cable so have more opportunity to watch Dynamite. I’m not enthused about Sweve being a transitional champ but I root for all black wrestlers and AEW looks like they will have two rather soon.
the only way that footage will make Punk look bad is if Jungle Boy dropped Punk with a punch or put him in the chokehold but we probably would’ve heard about that by now
I'm sure the footage will expose Punk as a fraud (to people who already don't like him). And everyone who likes him will say no big deal and Perry deserved it and everyone else.....won't see it or care enough
still hoping it ends up a bait and switch and it’s Jungle Boy beating up a dwarf dressed like Punk. Or one of those bad Chinese animated recreations that used to be popular on YouTube a decade ago
Oh yeah I get it. I have two little kids too, I just watch what/when I can or when I’m in the mood but don’t see a whole lot. I do watch mostly every PPV of both companies though.
Following WWE's socials will keep you up to date on anything you miss, they're prolific at posting content.
I don’t think this is a bad idea honestly. He’d be a very different face than he was the first time and it probably wouldn’t feel so forced.
What’s with the muted response? They either brought down the crowd mics or the entire crowd was just waiting to sing his song. Felt odd.
WWE being hot hasn’t extended to anyone else, at least in America. The only one noticeably doing better is OVW, and that’s solely because of the Netflix show they got that drove their ticket sales thru the roof and attracted themselves a “big” new investor. CMLL in Mexico just did huge ticket sales on back-to-back Fridays, but that’s because the BCC and Bryan Danielson had matches down there.
Some of the people exclusively or primarily on Collision wanted to be on the Saturday show. I know the ones with a significant other in non-AEW wrestling largely opted for Collision so they can have the midweek off to be home with them because WWE’s dates are all around the weekend and same for basically every other company. Oddly though Toni Storm is primarily on Dynamite and Juice Robinson was primarily on Collision. I haven’t looked because frankly what’s the point? But the ones that work ROH and Collision probably mostly work Saturdays since ROH is filmed alongside Collision. Would be a real shitty schedule to work Dynamite but then have to show up Saturdays just for a damn ROH match.
My guess is that the primary reason for going away from sports entertainment is because that was Vince’s creation and obviously they are trying to erase him from their company as much as possible. Plus the term has such a negative connotation after all the years of shitty Vince booking. Same with WWE Universe - another Vinceism
I just want to see the footage. If it doesn’t work out like AEW wants then that’s their problem to fix.
I imagine Swerve wins it at Dynasty and holds it until All In. That’s four months with two PPV defenses at two of their biggest PPVs (Double or Nothing, Forbidden Door) and they normally do a big TV show between Forbidden Door and All In/All Out that I would guess he would defend it on there against a notable opponent.
Yeah they’ll post every match, normally not the *full* match unless it’s a short one, but the bulk of it. The marathon matches get clipped up quite significantly though. And anything else of any significance/consequence normally gets posted there too.
As someone in marketing I think it’s going away because it doesn’t make sense and pro wrestling is just way more straightforward
if his body holds up on the main roster working the way he does then he’s made of the same rubber as Darby Allin
