I woke up before the wife and kid this morning and decided to throw Old on. Holy shit, that may be the worst movie I've ever seen. It legitimately had The Room level dialogue and acting. Some of the camera angle choices were absurdly hilarious too.
Saw it Saturday. It was pretty good. It was only about 90 minutes long but it actually felt like less than that.
This isn't much of a trailer to work with, but the movie was made with a budget of $100 and it's from the same distribution company - Terror Films - that brought us the Hell House LLC franchise and The Taking of Deborah Logan
I saw Late Night With The Devil. It was good. Didn’t know it used AI for anything. I do not like that.
Yeah, unclear on what that means (also haven't looked) but I'm not a fan of supporting it. Shudder is getting my money either way so may as well watch it when it drops but I won't be seeking it until then.
It's supposed to be just for a few images that I think they use when the show goes off air. I haven't seen it yet (waiting to torrance it), but it's still a job that could've went to a real person.
This is the AI piece that was made several years ago before all the AI strike issues. It’s an independent movie with very little backing.
NEON is going to have one hell of a year for their horror division Immaculate Cuckoo Longlegs - which has had one of the most high quality viral marketing campaigns I’ve ever seen for a horror movie Handling the Undead
I still don't understand remaking GREAT horror movies. Take another stab at bad or more obscure horror movies. Try Amityville, since they haven't made a good one of those yet. Or remake Phantasm.
Rebooting this makes no sense what-so-ever, and announcing it makes even less sense, considering the "this is real" marketing campaign and found-footage aspect is what made this movie good in the first place. Found-footage is played out now and the we're all used to internet marketing campaigns now, so what's left to be new about this?
Weird to remake this so soon but my word is Mcavoy perfect for that role. Has the ability to be incredibly charming and incredibly unhinged at the highest levels
Just got out of Late Night with the Devil and I'm pretty disappointed. Felt like it took forever to get going and didn't stick the landing. There was about a 15 minute section (with June & Lilly) that was promising, but then the sceptic sucked all the oxygen out of the room again. Maybe about a 6.5 but could have been so much better.
Yea I originally said I liked it, but I think I just respected the production quality. The plot was too slow and the payoff, while pretty gnarly, was way too quick. It was a well made movie, with a fun premise, but not enough stuff happened to truly entertain me.
Agree, agree, agree. Wonderful looking film with (mostly) good performances, but it's all style over substance. I've never had a 90 minute movie like this that felt like it went on forever.
Unless it's making fun of the shitty YouTube "is it haunted? You decide" channels where people submit fake videos, then it shouldn't be rebooted

I mentioned how it's supposed to be a big year for NEON, apparently they have another one coming out this year called Presence from Steven Soderbergh they had a promo poster up for at CinemaCon
I'm also two weeks behind on my horror news. I normally check up on the weekend, then last weekend I got sick before I could do it. And there were some festival/conventions during that time. So might see some extra posts from me today...
