he is a true polarizing figure. He made some feel for a brief moment that the justice system could “work” even if you were a black person. It pissed white people off so much that a rich black person used the system to his advantage. I always wonder how much that racial divide continues (when it comes to him) in how people see the verdict.
The Titanic submersible guys did all that just to be erased from the cultural zeitgeist within a year :*(
I remember hearing a lot of people saying he probably did it but finally the system worked for us. I don’t think I “celebrated/cheered” but I remember not being upset that he was found not guilty.
I have no knowledge of any such thread and if I did I would be posting there purely for to show support for misunderstood guys who have feelings and a lot of love to give to kind and understanding partners who don't say things like "NOT AGAIN!" in a way that makes me feel bad. I mean would make someone feel bad
Please never fully edit that post. Scrolling through OJ memes and then get hit with “yo this dude cummed his pants during a twerking competition and they showed it on the big screen”
Look at her account, it is all about freemasonry, the opus dei, shadow governments, Epstein. Maybe not the best source...or maybe the only source that knows the real truth!
And even though they definitely intertwine, I took it as you were more going for more about pop culture than societal (JFK, 9/11, etc)
yeah i got a real hard time believing the school and the lapd would cover up a black player assaulting two white women in 1968
Idk how anyone can look at the evidence today and think he didn't do it. That said, I get how they ended up with a not guilty verdict. DNA was very new and a lot of people learned about it through this case so it wasn't as trusted as now. LAPD had zero credibility after King and just how they terrorized the community in general. Furman on tape using racist language. The glove. The detective taking blood home with him. Just an overall shitshow of a case. All of that is probably overcome if the case was 10 years later bc people would have trusted the DNA more.
my post wasn’t about whether people honestly believed he did it or not but more with those willing pretend he was innocent. I don’t think I ever believed he was innocent I just know I was guilty of thinking “about time the system worked for us”.
You know, I get where you're coming from, and yet, the Bronco chase and all the courtroom drama after it was just a whole different dimension from those others. I mean, I was visiting my grandparents the day after the Oklahoma City bombing, in their front room by myself, watching the rescuers bury themselves in rubble to "keep the hopes up" of the rescue dogs. Finally went into the den to see what they were up to: Two septuagenarians glued to the TV watching the OJ trial. OKC? Shhh, they're talking about gloves.
