I really like the way some of the kids played in big games down the stretch, another big step forward from last season. Keep getting better. Hoping that goal doesn't get Perron a new contract
And being tied for playoff spot with a team you won more games than and had like a 40 better goal differential than but not making it just sucks
Oh and the Flyers wouldn't have needed to pull their goalie if the NHL didn't fuck them out of a goal and they were winning
Team was Pistons bad a few years ago. I'll take getting better every year significantly. Next year you have to keep it going though
Later Perron and Sprong Not sure if Kane comes back , doubt it Not interested in Stamkos Trade for Markstrom or Gibson and Zegras Kill Copp and Holl More youth up next year Kasper , ASP , Mazur and AJ
Wings definitely had their opportunities to make the playoffs. I'm not excusing the way they played when Larkin was out especially. Just bigger picture, there are some positives to take away from this season to go with the negatives. It's a big offseason
It's possible to be both disappointed they didn't get in and with the way they crumbled when Larkin was gone, but also think they had another step forward and be excited about some of the young guys not only in Detroit but the system. It's not a black and white issue. I'm cool shit canning Lalonde too
As bad as Yzerman’s defensive signings have been, the Copp (and to a lesser extent) Compher deals are absolute killers. Just insane term for the production. I would assume Raymond gets something in between Larkin and DaBrincat now?
You scored about 30 seconds before, not sure why that would change anything for Philly’s approach. They had no reason to need second by second updates I’ll go away now
A lot of stuff like they have a bright future, they showed a lot of resiliency, etc. Not a lot of we.
Just woke up in time to see what happened. What a crazy night. Bummed I missed it live. Not much has changed my opinion since I posted my season recap last week. I think we are going to be a prime candidate for negative regression just based on how many games we won in OT this season. There is enough evidence out there that teams getting to OT is actually a skill (see Tortorella) but winning games in OT has a level of variability. I mean we had 13 wins in OT this year. That’s wild, and certainly not likely to be sustainable. And all that was accomplished while being a bottom third team at even strength. In saying that, I do think a full season of Edvinsson and a 90 point year from Raymond (it’s happening) could help mitigate some of the regression. Adding a truly great goalie would probably make the most positive impact, but that won’t come easy. We are entering the most critical offseason Detroit has experienced since Holland’s first year fucking up the rebuild. Time for Yzerman to actually pick a direction.
If Markstrom is willing to waive his NMC, he’s the guy. He is still solid and his deal lines up well with Cossa’s timeline.
Taking my son whose started to really get into hockey to the Griffins game Sunday. Just saw its fan appreciation day and meet the team and post game autographs. I'll let cossa know you think he's a bust Vin. Wonder if Edvinsson is sent back down to finish season there
My son is 3. He's getting into playing sports, but hockey is the only one he actually sits and watches with me and really enjoys it. He thinks it's funny when players have to go to timeout (the penalty box), so I got tickets 1st row behind the penalty box for like $35 each. He will get to meet some players after the game too, can't really beat that
Can we get an official bust/no bust list from Vine for our top 10 prospects? Edvinsson Berggren Cossa Kasper Danielson Sandin-Pellikka Albert Johansson Wallinder Mazur Augustine Bonus: Buium Anton Johansson Tuomisto Lombardi Soderblom Gibson
Winning a title with his brother made me much more confident in this happening. Welcome to the logjam, Buium.
I don’t know how it would work, but logistically it seems like the Wings need to bring up 3/4 players next year. Maybe not all on opening night. There are a lot of prospects and not enough openings on the Griffins
Edvinsson, Berggren, AlJo are by default 3. Griffins D looking like: Wallinder Tuomisto Buium Didier Viro Rafferty
