this is a Shawn Hunter level edit Get your shit together Hayes. Shannon Terry said you are a monster. This ain’t it
Mizzou making a nice little spot for itself as the school offering the largest bag closest the Midwest. Kinda doing what Kentucky has done under Stoops but now leveling that up a bit with NIL backing
Getting a lot of dudes in B1G territory all the sudden. We've dipped into southern Illinois (which is basically considered in-state) and Indiana. But Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio is new
I don’t think the B1G Midwest schools outside OSU really bring the NIL to HS recruits much and there’s an opening. Michigan, PSU are more “well pay if you perform” schools
I think Michigan's football NIL stuff is TBD right now as far as recruiting goes. Dusty May is recruiting an entire basketball roster in a month using NIL and whatnot, so it's not like Michigan as an institution is banning programs from doing it. It's just not what Harbaugh was ever going to do. I don't think Michigan will ever go A&M or Miami on everyone, but I think they'll at least be selectively aggressive on some of that stuff going forward, depending on how much they can raise. I think that was going to be harder this year considering they have some returners like Graham, Johnson, Loveland and Grant they had to back up the truck to keep, which makes it tougher to keep kids like Beasley and Waller from schools like Mizzou and Kentucky.
Ehh I feel like 50% of your starters being transfers is probably around average for teams trying to be competitive
FWIW - he doesnt have a clear path to play next year at Mizzou. 2 - Deep is pretty set. Also Mizzou brought in a pretty nice freshman LB class. So there will be competition to play.
I don't disagree. Only think it's being brought up because one of your sites made this huge deal about UM being able to develop HS players instead of relying on transfers last year.
Ohio State had that same approach for the first years. Even in the 2024 cycle, we had Justin Scott and Jordan Lyle flip late to Miami over NIL. Since then (and another Michigan loss), we have been spraying NIL money out of a fire hose. There was no other reason to hire Ross Bjork from Texas A&M as our new AD aside from navigating the new NIL landscape.
it's not a dig at miami, it's a dig at gaby who just wouldnt shut up on twitter about fsu playing transfers bc mario told him to push a narrative
Its a dig at any cfb fan (plenty on FSU side) that spent the past 3 seasons screaming that the portal was an unsustainable way of roster building when it reality hoarding talent for multiple years was the unsustainable model
