I took Texas on the ML instead of taking the 4 points so I saved myself $50.

Just think about how much money you could have won if you would have just followed SEM. I'm sure you came out on top as you always do, :jerkit: but sometimes you just need to follow>

Meh. It's the first losing day I've had this week and I've hit some big nights in CBB the last few nights. I'll live with it. I follow a lot of people. More of them were on Texas last night than on Bama. And they were right on the money about the game they just can't predict Texas losing their best player early. No chance Bama wins that game if McCoy isn't hurt.

Agree. Texas was the right side with a healthy McCoy.

Really? The team getting gashed up the middle of their D by multiple rushers from the other team is the smart play? I agree that the sharp play was Texas pre-kickoff but after about the first 4 minutes in the game it was obvious the Texas front seven wasn't equipped to stop a dominant run game.

Some people need to learn to appreciate a running game and great defense. It's all about the fat slow boys. Save you lots of money :twocents:

It's not about failing to appreciate running game and defense. It's about viewing the game for what it was. Texas had 3 drives in the first half where they had the ball in scoring range and only had 6 points. A healthy McCoy drastically improves their chances for more points on that drive. The shovel pass pick 6 likely doesn't happen with McCoy in the game.

Bama very well might be the better team but they came out flat last night and were ripe for the picking. If you didn't luck out with McCoy Texas was going to win the game comfortably.

I agree that Texas was the right pick. I live in Alabama and even a good share of their fans know they caught a huge break when McCoy went down. That game would have been 14-0 Texas before Alabama knew what hit them. Shipley abused the Alabama defense all night and would have netted over 200 yards if he had a QB who could it an open receiver. Don't forget that it was a 3 point game late in the 4th and the only way Alabama covers against the backup QB is because of the sack and fumble recovery on the 4.

I'm almost certain I watched Bama fail to move the ball most of the night. They continually got it around the 50 when Gilbert was trying to figure out what a football looked like. Texas got what, 6 sacks?

    I love revisionist history.

A QB who could get it to an open receiver? You mean a receiver who could catch the ball, right?

Alabama had Two 100 yd. rushers in this game. Not sure how someone can call it revisionist history when someone says they ran it at will. They weren't even going to try and score the rest of the game until Texas proved they could put up some points. Bama was content to run up the middle 3 times and punt for the entire second half until they did something. This was obvious by the playcalling in the third quarter. Bamas secondary did get burned some in the secondary about half way through the second half but was that because they were sneaking up to get in the running game bc Texas was working with an 18 yr. old Qb running more than they had all year? I don't know but it seems just as plausible as saying Mccoy would have eaten them up when no qb has done that all year.

Actually, the respectable qbs they had to play this year had their worst games against that D. I'd like to see atleast one instance of a qb doing this year what Mccoy (could have done if) he had been in the game. It's not like that offense has been lights out this year.

And to the close at the end comment. It might have been a mistake but Bama got conservative and relied on thier D to end the game as fast as possible after the half.

And let's not forget about their receivers gator arming those balls all night either. You think those guys in Bamas secondary were going to be hitting any softer back there with Mccoy in?

Just to many what ifs in that McCoy scenario to make me believe I made the wrong pick on this game.

Must be a coincidence that only Bama fans think they still would have won if McCoy hadn't been hurt.

something like 75% of the bets placed for the most gambled game of the year were on Bama. I doubt only Bama fans think this.

When the public loads up on a game, they MUST be right. It's how Vegas stays in business.

Jesus christ I know you're smarter than this. I'm not saying that everyone thought Texas was better BEFORE the game. I'm saying that after watching the game it is blatantly obvious that on that night Texas was going to win if McCoy didn't go down. Bama wasn't at their best. They were flat. Texas left a ton of points on the field that wouldn't have been left there with McCoy in the game and Bama scored 20 points as a direct result of mistakes made by the offense that weren't likely with McCoy in the game.

Def. not blatantly obvious that Texas would have won the game had McCoy stayed in. Ill play this card using Bama's players. Hightower was out, I say that is at least a few sacks and possibly a turnover. Ingram was cramping up and sat out the entire third quarter, not to mention he has a lingering foot injury. Ingram could have probably rushed for 200+ himself had he stayed in the game. McClain was battling flu like symptoms, had he been 100% healthy I say Bama gets a few more TFL's. McElroy, had he not had broken ribs probably would have had a better game. You see, your argument is void. Bama dominated the LOS and would have handily won the game regardless of McCoy.

when the most bets are on one side and the most money is on the other (RLM) who's side do you think Vegas is on? <---look, I can do that to.

clue: Vegas wants to make money.

How can you say it is blatantly obvious that Texas wins if they keep McCoy? He played 4 snaps, out of those snaps, what did he do to show you he had that game won? Is it just because a true freshman almost got it done? I am sure it crossed your mind that the Alabama players, especially the defense, put it into cruise control for the better part of the second half. If we had won the ball game 37-6 would you still feel that McCoy would have blatantly won the game for Texas? Regardless, my team won the ship, and I cashed in on it :chatzy:
