I had two boxers. Just as an aside, for the love of God, get him neutered. Anything to help lower the incidence of cancer later on :-(
Yeah me too, makes me want a new pup too... I'm kinda thinking German Shep with a Lab mix..black or golden lab either way would make for a nice mix...gotta love the mutts..
Brought my newborn son home on Monday. Tuesday night the puppy started sleeping under his bed and following him everywhere we go with him. My in laws came to visit yesterday and the pup damn near mauled my father in law when he went to pick the baby up. The dog is already protective of him. Goddamn I love dogs.
My puppy is like that with my 4 year old son. In fact he hates when any adult picks up a kid. We are going to have to train him to chill. He won't bite, but he jumps up.
been a while since I posted any pics so here are some updated pics of Kratos. He's 6 months old now and 48lbs (he's gonna be a big boy guessin mid 60's) and he's startin the drop the puppy fat nicely. Got about 5 more months before I can start working him, but I'm happy with how he's developing so far.
Is any one familiar with "swimmer puppy syndrome"? Apparently it's like when the stomachs stomach muscles fail to develop and he can't walk. I had put down a deposit for a puppy and then a couple of weeks before I was able to pick him up (about a month ago) I was informed he had this and they had to put him down. I'd even bought leashes and bowls and the works. It's the absolute worst (Sorry to add sadness to otherwise amazing thread but I was so blown away by this I have to ask others)
So this seems like the thread to post my annoying incident this morning, I was walking my dog at my apartment complex (Scrappy, a Miniature Beagle, though I've recently learned they're called Pocket Beagles) and some asshole didn't clean up their dog's shit, :nebraskafans: And Scrappy steps right in it. At 1st I was like not biggy it'll just rub off in the grass and he'll be good. We go back inside and he smelled so bad, his white paws had dog shit all over them. I was had to give him a bath to get it all off and it made me late for work. Fucking douche bags need to pick up their dog's shit. The complex has poops stations all over the fucking place, takes all of 5 secs to pull out a bag and pick it up. /cliffs - walked dog, stepped in lazy owner's dog shit, had to give him bath to get rid of shit smell, was late to work dude to lazy dog owner. Here are a few pics i have on my phone, there's only a few sorry it's not a great selection.
yeah that's annoying as hell....last year when I had Rory at school I felt like such an old man walking around with newspaper bags/wrappers hanging out of my pockets
Thanks guys. So far so good. Not a ton of complaints. We need to get him some training for a couple of things, but overall he is a good dog. He is a little more protective than I expected, but not in a way that he would hurt someone. He can just be a bit scary to strangers who don't know him, because he has a nasty bark, but he is typically wagging his tail and just excited to meet people while ferociously barking at the same time..
i need some new pics of kate doing awesome things so she can recapture her rightful place as best dog on tmb
The big rot, Bill, belongs to my Chief. The rot pup, Seminole is mine. The Staffordshire terrier, Queen, is my wifes.
My youngest American Bulldog decided to eat some Wisteria last Thursday, which is apparently poisonous to dogs. Woke up to her diarrheaing all over the floor (smelled so bad). Went on all night, thought she was just sick. Ended up taking her to the vet the next morning b/c she was limping and collapsing some. Pretty worrisome. She got some meds, special food and a couple shots & is back to her normal self.
