Probably because there is so much swag in that room. Not just JFK, but what about the dude with the shades on smoking a cigarette inside, or the dude with the pipe?
Dude in the shades reminded me of Dr. Strangelove. LBJ always looked like he had such a burr up his ass, at least until he killed Kennedy.
There's a new book coming out about the Johnson-Kennedy relationship. Jackie and Bobby both hated LBJ, and looked down on him because he wasn't east coast educated, from wealth, and well, a Kennedy. JFK and LBJ actually apparently had a better, more respectful relationship than is usually publicized.
Looks like Jackie and LBJ are conspiring with one another. Better send this in to Shu for more analysis.
So Lincoln was 6'4" tall. How fucking short were men back then? Average height had to be 5'5" to 5'7"? I'd fell like a giant at 6'2".
1963 NCAAT game MSU vs Loyola University Chicago. A handful of MS senators and Gov. Ross Barnett(alumnus of Ole Miss) were trying to prevent the then Mississippi State Maroons from traveling to East Lansing,MI to face Loyola who had 4 black starters. MSU snuck past state police in the middle of the night to fly to Michigan.(the MS Govt. had prevented MSU in playing NCAAT games the past 4 years because they had gotten paired up with integrated teams)
I've seen almost that much snow. Awesome as a kid. The thought of it now, as an adult, is a bit unsettling.
If I am not mistaken Lincoln is speaking to George McClellan. The guy on the far right is awesome IMO. Almost took him for Grant but he wasn't at Antietam.
i love the rings of clouds around the explosion, i would bet that the shockwave condensed the water around the area into those ring like clouds almost instantously cool as shit
That car ride to Parkland must have been something else. Imagine being the EMT who runs out to find a brainless president waiting for him in the backseat.
I've seen 4'11" listed several places. I've also seen 5'6". But I think that may be different time periods. The taller one, I would think, is later after the Celt/Germanic tribes were added into the legions, as Northern Europeans have always been taller. The first place I saw the 4'11" figure mentioned these legions were fighting Gauls who were, on average, a foot taller than the Romans.
