I say we blow up the 2011 SS thread with disgust We can pool up and buy Devine some oral hepatitis meds as a present. For real if we say we'll reimburse him for 2011 SS ($25) all should be forgiven
emjay was devine's secret santa also, they didn't ban him until it had been like 9 months late and after multiple taggings and messages that he didn't respond to. and then multiple warnings that they were going to ban if they didn't respond or take action. he doesn't really have anyone but himself to blame
Fucking travesty really. Lots of things on the Internet are fake; this shit is real money. SEM's sheet helped me win a 300-person bowl pool 2 years ago ($5000) and finish fourth last year (fuck you Aaron Murray). Sanity needs to win out here. Drop the stupid message board drama horseshit and let the man post this sheet. That goddamn thing is worth thousands of dollars to me this bowl season.
Consider this all of our TMB Secret Santa gifts. If he's not unbanned we are all deprived of our yearly gift.
he doesn't need to post to get his sheet onto here he is basically holding everyone hostage in an attempt to get unbanned
I'll reserve my thoughts on this for later, but I can see where this is going, and there shouldn't be much surprise.
Yeah but some of his picks go against what his sheet says. Also, he makes his picks within 30 minutes of kickoff.
Somebody just find out what we need to do to get him unbanned, please. Whether it's the secret santa bullshit or whatever... Or is there just no hope ?
Yep you're correct. TigerPawsSC started a huge scam. Can't believe known scam-artist TigerPawsSC thinks he has a say in the matter
It wasn't a "scam" where he made money. He touted a baseball betting system that he claimed was fucking awesome. Posted his picks here and they were fucking awful. A few people lost a solid bit of money & I think he lost money too. That is my recollection of it.
Yeah that was pretty much it. He basically had the under on every baseball game he gave out. He would have under 7 in a Red Sox/yankees game and it would go over by the 3rd inning.
The whole thing was this with TigersPawSC Him and I started a website selling our picks. He had his own system where he said bet the unders in every game for the entire year. Not a system I agree with at all but I guess it worked for him. He built it up and people bought into it. The site we had was winning and doing very good but we never posted his system picks on our site so people thought it was a scam and then went crazy on him. There was never a scam or such thing. His system did not work and people were pissed because they were losing money and thought he was scamming other people saying that he was winning
And the way I feel about unbanning Sem is this If he never answered any messages to try and figure out the situation for him not buying a gift then he deserves to be banned. It was a douche move if true.
Is there a way for him to get unbanned on the gambling board only. He was an asset to the gambling board and his bowl picks were really good. I dont see why the gambling board has to suffer because he didnt buy someone a present.
I don't think thats possible. We have to suffer because he did a douche move. If he wasn't/couldn't buy a present for someone, he shouldn't have signed up.
well I'd be willing to pitch in $5 if we can get enough other people willing to do the same to get H/T an amazon gift card. would be really gay to have to do it, but it's the same as pitching in to buy a bowl picks package anywhere else on the internet. at least we've seen this guy's picks 1st hand and know the system
Screw using my money to get someone else I don't know a gift. Sem needs to sack up and post his sheet somewhere else like a chatzy group or google group or one of the other five ideas we came up with. He's just trying to use his sheet as leverage to get back on TMB and that's not going to fly.
Accurate. Started 2010 baseball season with a ridiculous run (2 weeks) of shit. That year ultimately turned into the "year of the pitcher" and unders did really well long term. But people got crushed by variance, and my overconfidence in the metrics led to over-sizing of bet recommendations. Then folks saw that we had started a site, which used some of the picks from the "system" but not all (not most, really). "System" gave out O/U figures, while our site gave out sides. Site was killing it through the same period of time the system picks (which I sent out for free) were decidedly not killing it. People got mad and figured that the picks I emailed them must be the same picks I used on the site, and thus that our numbers were fudged. Which wasn't true. Others didn't think we fudged the numbers, but were mad they got the shit-side picks while the site's customers got the winners. Variance blows, but I didn't scam anyone out of anything. In fact, I made exactly 0 dollars from the TMB Sports Picks site and exactly 0 dollars from any person who followed my emails. People took a risk and they (we) all lost for a solid 18 days. It happens. Just to set the record straight. But D4H's version of the events is spot on.
Back to the point - we need to communicate to SEM that we are not the people who banned him. And that he would be a real nice guy if he continued to help out the problem on this board, because most are on his side on this issue. Then give him like 4 options for posting the sheet in a safe place without exposing his models and what not. Make it as easy as possible for him to do it.
But what does he do when he realizes that it won't work? Then he has to make a decision on whether he wants to enjoy his holiday season without the attention and strokes that he usually gets from people on the internet over his ability to pick bowl games. Don't know the guy, so this is all just speculation.
sent him this email a few minutes ago. we'll see..... Doesn't look like you're going to be reinstated unless you buy H/T a secret santa gift. The argument from the masses was that you were tagged/quoted/PMed and never responded. which was the difference between you getting banned and ClownBaby / emjayy not getting banned - they said they were working on it.... but still haven't sent gifts. we pleaded our case for about 6 pages on a thread on the main page and it's not happening without a gift being bought. if you want people suggested sending someone screen caps or getting in a chatzy for the sheet. if you don't want to do either that's understandable. just playing messenger thanks
Any response? I'm in tally as well so maybe I will just have to find out where he lives and steal his computer?
Was also hoping to have this to submit my bowl confidence picks... Sure hope something comes to fruition by then.
check the bowl picks discussion thread. actually feel just as good about the other guy's pick sheet as I do SEMs. just because I've been watching him win consistently for 6 years now
It is setup just like years past. There are two total systems, the off o/u and def o/u. The systems project what the total should be based on the offenses and defenses. The average is, of course, the average of the two which is generally near the total for the game. When all three total columns have a total above or below the posted game total, I've bolded and underlined the row for that bowl to indicate the agreement. There are two side systems and two other systems pulled from FoxSheets. My systems are the system A and B columns. The main difference between the two is that System B factors in strength of schedule. The values in the columns represent what each system thinks the spread should be. When all four systems have a line that is above or below the posted side for the bowl, the row for the bowl is bolded and underlined to indicate the agreement. If anyone has any more questions, let me know and I'll be happy to help.
Stats from last year.... When A and B agreed, it went 13-7, 65% When A and Outplay agreed, it went 15-8, 65% When A, B, and Outplay agreed, it went 7-3, 70% When all 4 agreed, it went 5-2, 71% System A itself went 23-12, hitting 66% including 19 out of the last 25 bowls. This year was big with the favorites, going 21-14 in bowls. The unders had a slight edge hitting in 20 out of the 35 bowl games.
From 2010: System A and B disagreed 7 times last year. System A was correct in 6 of those 7 disagreements. The Def O/U is always pretty reliable, going 26-9 last year
