You will play against the worst most tryhardy type people imaginable. Counter warding in like minute 4 and a defensive trilane with pulling of every creep wave. The other game modes are much more fun.
Guys general FYI, Auto attacking the creeps in your lane is not good. It will push the lane to the other enemies tower and you'll lose safe farming position. Turn of auto attack in the settings, IMO. Makes it easier. Or spam 's' and watch your hero spasm trying to attack.
Also, DotaBuff rating of 1501 Platinum, 83% percentile. Was expecting worse since I play normal skill games.
Enjoyed it guys Name P. Redacted OTM Zap Branigan bturns even though you have shitty internet and a $12 headset
I just played with my ~2000dbr ranked friend and his terrible friends. my buddy played just about the nastiest batrider i've ever seen that game. professional level shit. I need to post the replay.
Please do. I may have played the shittiest batrider ever last night. Like so bad our random fifth was raging at me calling me dirty names.
BTW guys, stop queue'ing for SD and do AR. They just put it in the patch and it was/is my favorite mode to play. Everyone gets random gold and you don't have to debate who to play. Best way to learn heroes IMO.
you don't want me playing a ranged carry or dificult AP/support type hero. Not a good combo. just let me melee and be a tank. its what im good at.
I'm curious since I see the word tank thrown around a lot. Are there heroes in LoL that can somehow absorb damage for teammates or force aggro (similar to tank in WoW) or does it just refer to a hero with a lot of HP?
i like the term "meatshield" better but essentially yes. Tank as in he can take alot of damage whether it be from lots of armour, Magic resist, or hp. They are usually your initiators and the guy who keeps your Ranged adc out of the mix so he can focus the other teams adc. Beastmaster is an awesome tank. especially with that stun and his q.
When you say force aggro, there's really only one champ in each game, Axe and Rammus, who can make you attack them... But there are certain champs in LOL that will soak up damage for the team, usually that means running through the enemy team and getting onto the priority targets making the other team peel for them
Forgot about that guy. Shen(tank) is a huge one I was forgetting about, and Ahri's charm too(Ahri's a magic power carry)
it's all random so who gives a shit. It is seriously the best way to learn different heroes and most teams will have a completely fucked team composition.
I remember in DotA all stars that was what made AR awesome. Winning with a shit comp and proving your skill against a better comp.
A "tank" in LoL is a champ with good initiation, cc, and high base defensive stats. Their job is usually to initiate, zone enemy carries, or peel for allied carries depending on the situation.
if this is what you want, bturns play nothing but Tidehunter, Magnus and Centaur for the next 50 games
As soon as I saw I got Riki as hero choice, I knew it was game over out our bracket. Bitches even bought dust and gem BUT IT WAS TOO LATE. Diffusal blade > dust you faggot noobs hahaha Timbersaw is really fun but takes practice.
it was always mya ssumption that our adc hit whoever was closest, whereas the rest of your team focused their adc/AP carry
Haha it's ok. It's healthy. I knew I was playing shitty. I just didn't know how batrider worked. I'm good with finesse characters, but after I've played them a few times.
If there is one truth to Dota, it is that everyone sucks at it. You just suck less than 86% of the others. I was surprised with mine as well.
Also Dotabuff added a skill build thing to the heroes section. Really surprised by some of the popular builds, for instance Disruptor https://dotabuff.com/heroes/disruptor/skills?date=patch_6.77 All the popular builds level up his nuke for some reason. While you should never have a set build order you should always try and get glimpse leveled up, to level 3 at least, as fast as possible as it his best skill by far and each level increases range and lowers cooldown by a lot. It also combos with the ring thing and his ult so fucking well while the nuke is just a nuke.
Sometimes in dota you'd rather take out a support in back who is controlling the fight for the carry. It all depends. Often times I see melee carries get kited trying to kill one person instead of just turning around and hitting whoever is closest. Thats one thing WoW arena taught me, always be attacking.
it's because most people go "durr this does damage I must level it." Even the competitive guys maxed Thunder Strike first until like TI2, and as a result people thought Disruptor was trash tier. Someone, I don't remember who, maxed Glimpse first at TI2 and they fought every teamfight 5v4 because they would just glimpse back whoever TPd in.
Cant see dotabuff at work. One time I didn't take his nuke and I felt so gimped early game since I had no offense on my own. I think the nuke helps get early kills. Usually max nuke and glimpse and take one point in ring early on. Later on his nuke is pretty not impressive since it is strung out over time and people have regen/heals/mekanisms. If I had a person in lane who I was coordinated with, I wouldn't grab nuke at all. However in pugs it is nice to have some offensive abilities.
I remember that game, it was really what turned me on to Disruptor too. I really like picking him to fuck with a Furion. I'm not saying that you don't level the nuke but don't max it first. Thing is at level 1 it does 150 damage which is actually a fucking lot for a level 1 spell so my current build is nuke/ring/glimpse/glimpse/glimpse/ult into whatever I want. Level 1 could be ring then nuke depending how safe I need to keep the person I'm babysitting. After ult though I trending more to glimpse level 4, max ring, max nuke with taking ult when up of course
