Did you ever finalize your plans? Doing Bardot? Also, we have a new place opening in a few days, Carbone. It's the same Carbone as is in NYC. We even got their Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef.
High Roller. Mob Museum. Bellagio Conservatory. Caesar's shops and moving statues. Bellagio Fountains. Fremont Street Experience. Cirque Du Soleil (KA or Zarkana). Canals at The Venetian. Hoover Dam. Aureole at Mandalay Bay (midgets "fly" to get your wine).
that's why i'm going - i should've bought flights when they first became available but I got greedy since southwest has sales every so often
People book that weekend, Superbowl weekend, New Years, Consumer Electronics Show, AVN week, the National Finals Rideo and the March NASCAR weekend way in advance.
I have no Idea what they planned and dont really care. free booze and food is fine wherever they decide
I've been that weekend before. It is a pretty pricey one but definitely worth it. I booked my trip around this time when I went and it was comparable to what I paid to go out there this past Labor Day. I'm actually trying to get my friend to agree to having his bachelor party that weekend next year
What's the best cheaper hotel on the Strip? I booked through expedia so now I'm being offered hotel discounts, I.e. 25% off at Flamingo and others, but I have no idea how shitty they are. I'm assuming hilariously shitty.
had the exact same thing happen to me a while back and I've watched my chips every bet since mine was an $8 bet and two were knocked off the top
The Linq is newly renamed and remodeled at similar pricing. Flamingo is a standard 3 star hotel and its a crapshoot for getting a room that hasnt been destroyed before
Went a couple weekends ago...was up 1100 after 2 days on craps...gave it all back on Sunday as I was leaving. Don't even care. I'll never go back to Mandalay bay though...holy crap the money flys around there. Went to a $10 min table and was sandwiched by 2 guys who dropped a few thousand. Watched one of them bet 200 on a hard 10 and it hit...needless to say it influenced my typical betting pattern in a way that was not conducive to my means haha Does anyone else feel like you lose the value of a dollar while in Vegas? Like a $100 is nothing? Am I crazy?
Also, am pearl at m life and have no idea how...only play craps and I don't think I've spent that much...I know it's only level 2 but still...does my Vegas add to m life rewards?
I too, lose the value of money in Vegas. Unfortunately, it carries over when I get home from Vegas for a few weeks.
Making my first trip to Vegas for a buddy's wedding this weekend. Hopefully I don't embarrass myself at the craps table with my minimal knowledge. Just gonna bet the pass line and see what happens.
Monte Carlo for sure has craps lessons for like $10 bucks in the early afternoons, and if you go play early in the day when it isn't busy I am sure the dealer will walk you through it like Nole said.
I've played a handful of times at non-Vegas casinos but it's been years. Hopefully a few rolls and I'll remember what I'm doing.
Going in November for a conference. Not sure why they picked Vegas when they know all attendees are broke.
Flamingo and Harrah's always advertise cheap rooms. You can get a decent room or a shit room. I recommend you grease the skids with the person checking you in.
We are probably trying to stay at Gold Coast because the conference is at the Rio and that's above our budget. Any tips? Tricks? Expectations?
One thing I always recommend to people if they are at all interested in cars is to go to the Penske- Ferrari showroom at the Wynn. I think it's like $10 and you get to walk around the showroom and then in the basement they have a bunch of classic Ferraris, an old Penske Indy Car, and a bunch of other classic cars. It's hard to go an hour there and not spend more than $10.
This reminds me, stayed sober one morning and went north of the strip to drive a Ferrari. Drove that and a Porsche 991 gt3 and it was an awesome experience. Would highly recommend if you like to drive, go drive that GT3. Also got paid to get drifted by a pro and that was a lot of fun as well. If you have 300 bucks or so to throw around, do it. I'll def be checking out the $10 car show though. Also want to see kount's customs as I love that show
decided to come a day early and was able to get a comp at ph step off the elevator and to our immediate left is a dude passed out in the marlboro man pose good or bad sign?
Neither. It's only a validation that you are, indeed, in Vegas. Now the rain....that's a different story.
2 new places I recommend visitors check out: Skyfall Lounge at Mandalay Bay. One of best Strip views. Carbone restaurant at Aria. Italian cuisine like I've never tasted.
Yes to both. Skyfall is actually higher up than the Foundation Room. Carbone's food is better than Lago's; however, the Lago view of the Bellagio fountains is unsurpassed. Lago is very good, don't get me wrong. It's Michael Mina after all. Carbone evokes 1920's New York Italian immigrant fare. Aria Carbone even has New York Carbone's executive chef and executive sous chef. The recipes are old world. The ambiance is unique in Vegas. Try the Rigatone Vodka if you like a little heat. The meatballs are the best in town.
11days, Im already fucked up. going to harrahs Cherokee next weekend with my mom before the Clemson game. Then two days after I return will be on my way to Vegas
Thoughts on the Plaza? Girlfriend just won 2 nights there; meanwhile, I've been looking at hotels for us as I mentioned ITT. What are the odds.
Went for the first time last weekend. It was wild. Went to Xs Friday night and got a table at Tao on Saturday night. Stayed at the flamingo
I don't know much about the Plaza itself, but Fremont Street is fun. Completely different crowd, vibe and ambience than the Strip. Some good restaurants in the area: Eat!, Chow (southern and Chinese fusion) and Zydeco Po Boy. The Strip is not w/in walking distance. Take The Deuce, a cab or rent a car to go there.
